      Lots to See

There are the obvious choices in Notre Dame and Saint-Chapelle, but there is so much more to see on this island. If you can set aside a full day to take in everything, you won't regret it.

This was one of my favorite days spent in Paris on the island of Ile de la Cite'. This is one of the first areas that settlers came to so looooonngg ago. You will see why once you visit!

It is a charming neighborhood full of quaint boutiques and tasty cafes full of the best French food. My daughter and I patronized many of the boutiques and found the shop owners to be very nice and happy we were there. We enjoyed a delicious breakfast at a lovely cafe that provided a great view of the Seine river as well as the backside of Cathedral Notre Dame. We spent hours strolling and slowing down our pace. We even went down and sat by the river for a bit just taking in our surroundings. I was really glad my husband had bookmarked this area as part of our sightseeing and would love to return again and again.

Besides La Seine breaking up the landscape of Paris Ile de la Cite is another interesting geological feature to the city. It notably features several great structures one being the Notre Dame Cathedral.

You can also find love locks at Pont Neuf and is in easy walking distance of the Louvre. After visiting the Louvre we trekked over to Notre Dame. Cause why not? Plenty of signage along the way til you reach a little part with Notre Dame themed restaurants & cafes. Plus lots of lovely architecture and tons to see for the wandering tourist.

There, I believe, a bus stop is located near Notre Dame which bus 38(or maybe it's 39?) goes by which can take you to the Catacombs or back to Nord/Gare de l'est. Either way
Île de la Cité will provide more scenic views and interesting things for a casual walk. Worth a wander if you have the time.

This is a landmark or tourist destination. Ile de la Cite is an island. There are lots of stores tailored to tourist (souvenirs or goodies stores). B and I was walking toward Notre Dame and Saint Chapelle so we passed by this island.

It is a very cute charming island or neighborhood. Highly recommend coming here for a visit.

Île de la Cité is one of the two islands in the Seine in the center of Paris. It's most famous for several landmarks such as Notre-Dame, the Saint Chapelle, and the Palais de Justice among many others.

There's a daily flower market that also becomes a place where birds and cages are sold on weekends. There were a lot of people checking out the different kinds of birds for sale.

The métro stop was handy for me because I was saying on the Île Saint-Lous which is next to Île de la Cité and joined by a pedestrian bridge behind Notre-Dame.

This area was also very touristy because of what's there as I would have expected. The lines for Notre-Dame were crazy but since I had been there a couple of times in the past, I didn't bother to try to get in.

Really beautiful part of the city where you'll find the magnificent Notre Dame Cathedral, St. Chapelle and Conciergerie. There are also lovely shops and restaurants abound as well. My favorite restaurant in the area is L'Auberge des Deux Ponts. This is a great neighborhood to explore.
