Just OK BBQ for the Bay Area. I have a special connection with 4505, but I can't give more than an OK rating. If I can't do it for All the Smoke, I can't do it here.

Was watching the niner game at Emporium which is down the street and decided to stop by for some ol fashioned American bbq. This was a big mistake.

Let me not bash the restaurant but instead give it some constructive feedback.

1. Your brisket is dry, I'd probably cook it a lot slower and brine it before you cook it.

2. Prices wayyyyyy too high for what it is. I know inflation affects us all but it's legal robbery what you guys charge.

3. Portions... see number 2, if you have better portions, no one would complain about the prices. We are all struggling in America right now. There are no more "shortages" due to shipping and trucking protests. If you're gonna charge what you charge throw some more meat on my order.

4. Back to quality, the meat is very basic and it would seem as if it is not marinated or almost flavorless with the exception of the bbq sauce they provide. I should be able to taste the meat without bbq sauce.

My expectations for bbq in California are extremely low after living in the Midwest and having bbq in Kansas City and Memphis. I always see this place bustling with customers so I finally went to see what all the hype is about.

This bbq didn't surpass my expectations in the slightest. I got the two meats platter with brisket and a hot link with posole and Brussels sprouts as sides. Now trust me, I knew something was wrong when posole was an option and there was no regular mac & cheese. I gave the posole a chance hopping for pieces of bbq pork, but all I got was bland broth and lots of toppings. The Brussels sprouts were the best part of my meal.

When I ordered the brisket, I wasn't asked which cut I wanted which was strike 2 for me. I'm a fatty brisket girl but that's not what I got. The brisket was pretty dry and disappointing. The hot link was fine and honestly more spicy than I expected.

The vibes are very fitting for its location on Divis. The restaurant is open air and pretty lively on the corner. I could imagine people getting food and a beer before walking down to more bars.

Cons: Price and lack of burger selection

The food with Mid Tier with the burger and fries. In n out Fries are better. Their chicken Tenders, however, was the star of the show. Perfectly cooked, tender, juicy, and the breading was tasty. I found this as a recommendation for one of the best burger spots in SF and I'm glad we stopped by. Their service was good and the workers were attentive to the cleanness of the outdoor area. I was just disappointed in the burger. I'll stop by one more time to order something else.

HOLY BBQ!!! Amazing spot, incredibly filling. Great smoked brisket and hot link.

Their meal plate comes with an option of one to three meats, 2 sides or fixings, and a butter roll.

Their staff was very attentive and super fast to help us with our orders and bussing down the tables.

The fried macaroni dog/item was not something I liked but I generally don't like super fried things like this.

Again beef brisket and hot link combo was amazing plus their spicy fries are LOADED.

They also have an array of sauces that were just awesome with the food. I love sauces and added on all of the options.

I wasn't expecting much from BBQ in California, but MAN, the food here is delicious at this little BBQ spot. My wife and I got the brisket, bacon & cheddar link and the pulled pork to share and it did not disappoint in the least. Everyone who worked there was extremely nice and food came out quickly. The location was perfect and when the weather is beautiful, it is such a nice place to eat and peoplewatch.

The beans were out of this world, and I found that if I took a bite of pickle and then chased it with a spoonful of beans, some sort of magical flavor bomb happens that I just can't explain, but it was delicious. All the meat was tender, hot, and was really on point. Next time I'm in SF, I'm definitely going back. SO FREAKIN GOOD! (oh and that spiked lemonade really hit the spot - loved it)

Each dish is a flavor explosion, and the presentation is top-notch. If you crave an unforgettable BBQ experience with friends or family, THE PRESIDENTIAL at 4505 is a must-try!

Ordered the choose 1 meat combo via UberEats.
. Brisket: (3/5) a nice lean piece of meat, though it might've been better fresh eating at the restaurant. Not as smokey or juicy as I expected to taste.
. Parker House Roll: (5/5) Soft, buttery, and sweet! Wouldn't mind just eating a dozen of these.
. Baked beans: (5/5) LOVE baked beans, it has surprise bits of meat inside.
. French fries: (5/5) The perfect thick-cut fries, they give a LOT!
. Coleslaw: (1/5) If I could untaste this, I would. Lots of pepper and the dressing is watery.
. Potato Salad: (2/5) Pretty standard potato salad, though with chunky potatoes in the mix. Kind of bland, mainly mayonnaise and not much mustard/other flavors.

I just tried 4505 with the help of DoorDash and loved the food!

The ribs were good but the brisket was amazing. Wonderful flavor by themselves with the side of BBQ sauce and mustard sauce taking it to another level.

The baked beans were tasty but the coleslaw was kind of black peppery.

Rounding the dinner off with a fresh roll and pickles, this meal hit the spot :)

Looking forward to returning to 4505!
