The night was absolutely fabulous!! I loved the food, the atmosphere, the service, everything was wonderful! I highly recommend trying the Cataplanas. A typical Portuguese way of cooking (never knew it until this night). Also, the octopus poached in olive oil was so tender and delicious, too! I walked away 30€ poorer, but well worth it. I think I would go broke if I ate there as often as I want to, but I'll definitely go back for special occasions.

My husband and I walked in to this place greeted by loud dj and no waiters or anyone to lead us to a table!
Horrible service walked in had to ask for a table with the waiter behind bar. Led me to a table at the front when there were clearly tables at back. Was very noisy full of college kids. We waited 10 min to get acknowledgement then I got up and went to bar to ask what was going on that we had been there for a while waiting. Waited another 10 min no one said anything so my husband and I left. I was very much looking forward to going to this place based on reviews I read and my craving for Portuguese food. But be forewarned if you want a loud hipster noisy young badly served not acknowledged place this is it!
We didn't get given drinks or menus or anything! NOTHING!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mike O.Reading, Vereinigte Staaten24824816312. Sept. 2013
I am really impressed with the decor here; in many ways it represents the anti-Starbucks, but unfortunately you're going to have to do a lot more than be stylishly present to earn a stellar reputation and perhaps on an off-night two desserts just fell way short of what was expected.
Both the tart and chocolate "salchicha" were dry, and not in the "we don't use too much shortening" dry but *really* dry. Bonus points for having tawny port, though - I know, it's a Portuguese restaurant, so duh, but I've come not to expect it....
It's right around the corner so I imagine that I'll be back when I need my sugar fix (read:port).Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alison F.London, Vereinigtes Königreich146412. Nov. 2014
Relaxing surroundings. Good food. It's not spectacular Portuguese cuisine but a very good attempt at home style cooking. Recommebd the Fabulous red wine their Reserva. The soup was very typical and very good. Lamb was delicious. Piri Piri chicken very tasty not over spicy and generous portion. Good bacalaou. Wonderful chocolate torte. The picanha they offered wasn't really picanha but overall we enjoyed our two meals here. Great place to head to if you're staying locally.
