Fastest I've ever passed through immigration and customs. Everyone helpful. Immigration officers were friendly and pleasant. Loved!

Slowest custom lines I've ever experienced. Moved at small pace. Don't bother to arrive more than 3 hours before your flight. Checking is available 3 hours before departure time. That means you can't check in and drop your bags to go shopping or enjoy the lounge.

Airport is pretty easy to navigate. Came here today from a flight from GRU. Bags came out quickly and I was on my way out. Galeão Airport is somewhat far distance from the main touristic areas of Rio. You have an option to take taxi, Uber, or bus/metro. Bus/metro take the longest time but is most cost effective. However taxi and Uber are fastest.

When you arrive at Terminal 2, through arrivals area (ground level 0), you likely will be hounded by taxi drivers. They will tell you that Uber is not safe and that the walk requires a very long walk from arrivals. This is not true! You just need to take the escalators to the second floor and walk out. You'll need to cross one lane to the Uber pick up zone (outer most lane) at either Door B or C entrance.

I tried telling the taxi guys I wanted to take Uber, but they kept on telling me I should take a taxi. Uber is safe. Plus there are plenty of Uber drivers in the area to come get you, so don't be fooled.

I've been to Rio several times. They have two airports and Galeao is the international one. It is an older airport but is clean with a decent amount of shops and restaurant options. Free WiFi is available too. One thing to keep in mind is that there are taxi drivers that will hound you in the arrivals area trying to rip you off with inflated prices. You should only take an official taxi with the meter or Uber which works here too.

The airport is fine. No issues to report. It is clean and wasn't too crowded when we visited in August 2023.

This airport is is not as expansive as GRU in São Paulo. Uber is on the second level and comes in handy. The airport is clean and staff are eager to help you. The food choices are not plentiful. WiFi connection was excellent.

What a dump! This large airport seems like they haven't done any maintenance in a year. The roof was leaking throughout the terminals when we were here and they don't even bother to put "Caution" signs on the floor. Half of the bathrooms were out of order.
If you have to choose a connecting flight between this airport and any other airport, choose any other airport.

LONG LONG walk to the immigration counters. The airport is super clean though and the walk was actually nice for me after sitting on the 9.5hr flight from Atlanta.

It's not air conditioned but I arrived at 725am so it wasn't too hot and humid yet. It took about 45 min to get to immigration however the line was SUPER long and it looked like I was going to sit there for hours but they moved us along quickly and efficiently. Granted I'm here for Carnaval so long lines were expected.

They were very friendly and not rude at all like I've experienced coming back into the states.

The duty free store is very clean and large and you have to walk through it to get out of the airport, very well played :-)

Take an UBER!! Do not take a taxi, its cheaper to UBER to your hotel or AirBnb or wherever you need to go.

Airport is average. Ground transport is swindling hucksters who lie about the price. Get an Uber for honest cheaper ride. Comfort about the same price as X.

Ambiance | I hear things about Brazil but this made a great first impression. A pretty clean, spacious place, and had some nice photo ops

Parking | N/A

Customer Service | Excellent, nothing got stolen from me nor did I get hustled.

Overall | 4 Stars. A pretty clean and self-explanatory airport even for visitors. I had a two-hour wait and was able to keep busy. Souvenir shops sufficed for some last minute goods. Some spots of charging outlets and wi-fi wasn't bad.

Tips:
* There are two terminals, so be aware of that.
* As usual, come early.
