As isolated as this place can be (i.e. no other bars or basically place to hang out within 0.5 km), Backstage offers enough to make you want to stay there. This place has multiple bars/clubs/music venues. On a weekend, one can easily go there and hop around the area for different types of music (electronic, reggae, hip hop...you name it, they will most likely have it). If you get the munchies after a long night out, no worries, there is a food stand conveniently situated there to satisfy your cravings.
But I am giving 4 stars for its rock music venue (Halle). I like the size of the venue, not too big but wide enough to move around the crowd. The acoustics of the place was decent when I went (it was an indie rock concert). Prices for beers are average-priced, but they sell the local Munich craft beer (Crew Republic), which gets bonus points from me.
Whether it's a concert or a dance party, it's worth the trek to go to Backstage.
(Ok, it's not too much of a trek as it's still within Munich city perimeters...but I'm lazy to travel more than 20 minutes to go out.)Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Qype User (LordVa…)München, Bayern236713. Aug. 2011
Love that place! Lots of good gigs, like Indie, Hardrock, Metal, Techno. like that you see a lot of different people! Fun!
Watch out for the summer festivals there: the Free-and-Easy-Festival usually is scheduled for end of July, beginning of August! Sponsored event by the city of Munich and some major companies.
Great gigs for just maybe 6-10 Euro, including even a beer!
Have seen Sepultura lately there. great fun! Nice people, relaxed atmosphere and a night beergarden (just in case. Munich summer this year sucks!)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (tanzta…)München, Bayern026131. März 2011
I was here for a concert for the first time about a week ago and didn't realise that it's apparently a "club" too. Though it's pretty appropriate as a concert location, I can't really see myself partying here.
Anyway, I was at the "Halle" (there's also a "Club" and a "Werk) and the acoustics were not bad at all (no echo, the right volume, no audible noise), the space was perfect the size of the concert I was at (about 1000 people). Drinks at the bar were both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, the favourite German brews were available, but I settled for Spezi (coke and lemonade mix) at EUR3.30.
There's a coatroom at the (small) foyer, where you can leave your coats/jackets for a fee. I didn't make use of that service so I'm not too sure how much that costs, but it probably isn't too expensive anyway.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (rombor…)München, Bayern5326. Dez. 2010

Somit was das leibliche Wohl angeht eigentlich 5 Sterne.
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 012.
