I found this place primarily because I didn't want to go too far from my apt and this place kept me in queens and still allowed me to get my bowl on. I went on a weeknight with a friend to bowl two rounds and it was approx 30 total. It wasn't very crowded and the music wasn't too loud (which may or may not be a plus). What was weird was half way through a round the lights went off...I giddily thought black lights would come on and disco music would start playing but sadly..the lights just stayed, well off. (random) We ordered an alcoholic drink and I had a strawberry daiquiri. It was way too sweet and I tasted no alcohol and decided not to even go down the route of food here seeing as how it looked completely empty behind the food bar.
The staff is a little inattentive but they do have a wide variety of bowling balls and movie nights and blah blah blah. It's a good place if you are in the neighborhood but I would rather go overpriced at Dave and Busters if I'm looking to have a more exciting time.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Lara G.Astoria, Vereinigte Staaten29942525214. So, hubby and I are on a quest to find a decent bowling place in Astoria. We're so glad we found this place! It's actually an AMF bowling center now.
It's a great place to hang out, eat and bowl especially on Thursday nights when they have a movie and unlimited bowling and popcorn for $15. Any other time, it's $5.75 per game and if you need to rent shoes, it's $5.15. They also have a separate lounge/sports bar with a pool table. Since the place is relatively new, bowling is smooth and fun and there are no issues with the lanes. During week-ends, you'll find families hanging out here and see young kids bowl.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Camille H.Brooklyn, Vereinigte Staaten1745414575. Nov. 2013
Absolutely terrible! We bought a groupon for 2 hours of bowling for two (including shoe rentals) for $17. We called ahead to make sure that they would be able to accommodate us. The recording said the place was open until 1am. Yet, we still wanted to speak to a customer rep so we pressed 4 and the phone rang and rang with no answer. Finally, it was forwarded to voice mail and we were informed the message box was full.
So, we decided to head over from brooklyn all the way to queens, since we figured we'd have enough time to spare if we got there for 10. Imagine our surprise when we were told by the lone shift supervisor at the front desk that the place closed at 11, despite what the recording said.
This meant, we would only get 1 hour from our groupon. Was she accommodating at all? Would she allow us to pay half the money for the evening or give us some deal? Nope. So, since we had already made the 30 minute trip to the place, we stayed.
We noticed people complaining about the tv's being stuck, the machines not working etc. One man said they had been there for 2 hours and due to the machines constantly malfunctioning they couldn't even get past 2 games. Pitiful.
The customer service here was terrible. I should mention that the shift manager took her sweet time checking us in, even though she knew we were already not going to get our full 2 hours that we paid for in the groupon.
I would discourage everyone from patronizing this place. We surely won't be back. It really almost ruined my night because I felt ripped off and like my business wasn't at all important to them. She could care less that her company had screwed up and thus inconvenienced us.
I highly doubt this place will be open very long.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Carlos C.Brooklyn, Vereinigte Staaten1855683628. Nov. 2010
After leaving from the dissappointing bowling alley,Cozy Bowl, this one takes the cake for my overall favorite. The service is great, no stank attitudes, (no people selling bootleg DVD's). The bowling shoes were in fairly good condition. I love their large video screens, showing many of my favorite artists and songs, from Technologic by Daft Punk, California Love, Eminem, Daddy Yankee,Drake, Biggie, the list goes on and on. I loved it, and the videos had this trigger effect on me, which made my bowling experience from shitty to MVP. No seriously, I can't bowl for sh*t, but this place had some sort of magic spell on me. I was super surprised by all the strikes that I made. Also the friendly waitress hooked me up with free popcorn. Anyway, go to this place, for me is a definite love it. Take it from me, a kid who sucks at bowling, and had a blast.
