We used points for this hotel. It was beautiful and the location cannot be beat but the full price is just not worth it. I would only stay here if I was using points or for some reason the price was very reasonable.
Check in was easy and there was a complimentary candy bar in the lobby! Our room was clean and a little on the small side. My biggest issue was the shower tub only had a small glass door that covered across only half the tub. After I showered the water splashed all over the bathroom! Not to mention I was always freezing because there was no shower door to keep in the warm steam.
The worst part of the room that, in my opinion, was a huge disappointment and the reason why I wouldn't pay full price to stay here, was the windows kept no sound out at all! It's one thing to not have sound muffling windows if you are staying out in the countryside but when you are located in literally the loudest street in London, the windows really need to be able to cancel out the noise at least a little bit.
But, we used points so the hotel was almost free so all was good. Safe travels!Helpful 11Thanks 0Love this 11Oh no 0 - Jenny K.Round Rock, Vereinigte Staaten75081542025. Feb. 2019
Loved my stay here. I stayed a couple of nights on a business trip and it was the perfect location. Less than a 10 minute walk to two subway stops, in Leicester Square surrounded by restaurants and shops, and when I stayed in November there was a pop-up Christmas market that was directly across from the hotel entrance.
The room was small but that was expected, and had a great view of the London Eye. It had everything I needed: bathroom with a full shower, closet, full-sized mirror, side tables and lots of outlets. I also liked their virtual assistant you could text with questions and requests. There was a hip-looking bar on-site that I didn't go to but would have for a nightcap (had I not been pregnant during my visit).
The Uber driver had a hard time finding it so ended up dropping me off about a block away - no big deal and was easy to find once on foot.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 9. Nov. 2019Aktualisierter Beitrag
I have stayed at this property multiple times (my previous had an office two blocks away) and I always liked it but found the service uneven, today I had my best hotel service ever. I arrived at the hotel about 6 AM after a 19 hour flight from Perth. I thought I would drop my bags and kill time in the area until my room was ready.
The hotel went above and beyond for me. While my room was not ready, they gave me a temporary room to use until my room became available. It was great, I was able to get a few hours rest and a shower rather than walk around in the cold before any shops opened.
Not only did they give me a temporary room (without charging extra), they told me just to leave my luggage in that room and everything would be moved. I did but assumed it would be a difficult process, this is often where handoffs get dropped.
I got back to the hotel around 1 PM (still before check in), not only was my new room ready, my luggage was waiting for me. It was 100% seamless. But wait, there is more. They also upgraded me to a junior suite, which again was great as I was still jet lagged and wanted to do some work from my room.
All during the process, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I have never seen a hotel go the extra mile like the Radisson did this trip, coupled with a great location and nice property.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 018. That said, the hotel is very refined and plush inside. Service is very professional, though maybe a little over the top at times. Rooms are comfortable and large for London. TVs are nice, phone service solid. Also they have very good breakfast.
Overall, a much more relaxing and good experience than I expected in Leicester Square. - 7. Jan. 2018
Whatever you do, ask them for a room that does NOT face the construction noise. I was rudely awakened every day for 3 days with loud, overbearing noise at 6 am! Not fun. When I eventually said something they could care less and said I should have mentioned it sooner and they would have gladly move me. Here is my advice to them: if you know you have rooms that do not put your customers through horrible noise, why not give them those rooms to begin with?!
When I checked in another customer was complaining about the noise and it should have triggered me to ask for a quiet room. I was there on business and severely jet lagged and therefore had no time to move/bother with moving so I didn't say anything sooner. This area is so congested and in general annoying. Stay away from Leicester Sq if you can!Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Gary B.Oakland Gardens, Queens, Vereinigte Staaten157513117. Aug. 2018
We stayed at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hampshire Hotel during our visit to London. This hotel is located in the center of Leicester Square so it's close to everything. It's only about two minutes away from the underground station so we had no trouble getting to anywhere we wanted to go. I'd definitely want to stay here again during our next trip to London.

I can't believe this is a 5 star hotel.
Best location but the interior is old and service was average. They gave me one of the smallest rooms for three nights. Not cool.
If you want a good experience of a 5 star hotel. Stay away and try somewhere else.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 1171074378. März 2015
A fine old hotel, updated with some modern decor and amenities. The service was consistently excellent and I would be happy to return to this hotel in the future.
Location: Right on Leicester Square across from the TKTS discount ticket booth. My cab from the airport had trouble getting to the hotel to drop me due to construction, but my cab to the airport had no trouble picking up from the front door. The local tube station is also very near.
Room: I first had a small standard room with a view of a rooftop and the TV situation at a 90 degree angle from the bed. TV was not my priority on this trip, but I have never seen such an awkward set-up. Also that room had a somewhat unpleasant mildew smell (final straw). So I requested another room and was persuaded to upgrad to a "business class room" for another 30 pounds a night. That room was larger, had a nice view and a conventional layout. The room, bed, and bathroom were all clean and well maintained. There were a few small repairs in the bathroom that seemed a bit sloppy, but I've often seen that in hotels with a lot of natural stone that is expensive to replace properly when damaged.
Food: Room service was available and for the area prices were decent. And they refrain from adding a bunch of ridiculous charges to the menu pricing, which I found refreshing. I have to admit that the sandwiches with fries were really delicious. Service was good as was speed. As part of my upgrade I received free breakfast daily and that was very good (served in the chic/modern restaurant off the lobby of the hotel). The standard set-up included a buffet of fruit, yogurt, cereal, juice, cheese and ham. Then you may select a hot entree like Full English Breakfast or Eggs Benedict. Coffee/tea/toast were also included. I felt that the room upgrade/breakfast deal was a good one, but standalone pricing for breakfast only was a whopping 23 pounds ($36).
Minor Smell Warning: The lobby has a heavy perfume smell at all times and the upper floor hallways (6th floor at least) smelled heavily of smoking. I got used to these but other more sensitive folks might have a problem.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 407216152616. Nov. 2014
I have stayed at many hotels in London and the location at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hampshire Hotel is by far the best! Staying here is staying central to it all and there are several tube stations near to take you anywhere in London.
Even though the location is the best part of this hotel, the staff are what makes it even better. There are many hotels where your requests could take a long time, but the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hampshire Hotel made sure to fill all requests as soon as possible. Also, the housekeeping staff was amazing for reading my notes and requests and actually following them. The check-in staff, restaurant waiters, bar staff and everyone else who encompasses the Radisson Blu Edwardian Hampshire Hotel made me feel like I was home.
Locations - great! Staff - great! Now the rooms were even better. I like all of the outlets for my gadgets and we had a great view of Leicester Square. What makes it even better was that we were in a large King bed. The bed was spacious and it was very relaxing after a long day sightseeing or even a longer night out partying in SOHO.
Overall, this is a hotel you definitely want to stay at for any occasion. It is by far 5 stars on service, location, staff, rooms and ambiance. I can't wait to come back again!!!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Joe P.Jenkintown, Vereinigte Staaten0142. Apr. 2017
My wife and I stayed at the Radisson Blu Edwardian recently and the hotel was a wonderful experience. Clean, well decorated room with a feeling of being in Britian, not in a "you-could-be-anywhere" chain. The location...ahh...the location! You cannot beat this hotel for location, price, and London charm, with its lobby door opening on to Leicester Square, steps from Trafalgar and the Portrait Gallery and National Museum, a short walk to Whithall!
We came to spend some time at the theater, and the Radisson is a super location. We even caught a first run movie being on Leicester Sq. A great way to spend the inevitable rainy afternoon. Our advice, however, is don't eat at the hotel..way overpriced. Leicester Square and the streets nearby are full of restaurants of every stripe and price.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Mathias H.Stockholm, Schweden23593228034. Apr. 2012
The location one of the main reasons many people stay here and yes I agree the location is very good but to me there are not only benefits with this location. Being at Leicester Square also means that all the bad things (a lot of bad restaurants, over-crowded by tourists etc) are there as well. Still great location for many things.
I arrived at the hotel very early (before 10am) but they could still give me a room right away. I had a room on the 4th floor facing the back of the building which meant that it was very quiet. The room I stayed in was fairly large with plenty of space. Large comfortable bed, additional chairs to sit in, good work area with large desk. The wifi connection was good and it was free (not sure if that is always the case here but in the room category I was in it was free).
Room also had all the other standard things that can be expected such as TV, safe, coffee/tea making facilities, bathrobe, slippers, free magazines (Time Out, Wallpaper and more) mini-bar, iron (and ironing board) and nice amenities. Bathroom had a decent sized tub but was fairly small but still sufficient.
I did not have breakfast so cannon comment on it but did have dinner in the restaurant. Nothing special but decent food and at ok prices. Service in the restaurant was a bit slow but still friendly.
Service was, other than the slow pace at the restaurant, over-all very good. Always greeted friendly, everyone eager to help.I did for example very much appreciate that I could use the business center for a few hours after I checked out. I got a very good price so for me it seemed like a bargain and I would stay again if I got the chance, To summarize a very nice hotel that I can recommend.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0
