I have the repeat prescription with them and they are useless. Never ring to say its ready even though that's what they say they will do. When you ring them no one answers. being disabled i'm not going to go in on the off chance its ready. Being Boots you expect better service but they are the worst
Only reason they get 1 star is because you cant give less

Been using Boots Pharmacy for years, and they have always been bad, but a few years ago signed up for the repeat prescription service, that is terrible. Finally cancelled this last week, could take it no more.

In the last two years they have not got ONE order right, they either forgot to order it, got the wrong items, missing items, out of stock of some items, cannot find it, you name it I have had the excuses.

Even had boots tell me once to put an injection in my arm that is supposed to go in my leg!!

This time instead of 6 items I got one, they had lost the top page of items, last time could not find it as they had my name wrong, these are peoples lives you are dealing with, it is a disgrace. Now I have to return in 4 days to get the missing items!!

Store Manager is never available, and if you leave a message never calls you back.

For 3 moths they kept missing an item off the prescription, so my Dr had to do an extra catch up prescription, what did they do miss if off the next one as I had just had them, total fiasco.

The queues to be seen are a joke, as everyone has a problem to resolve, as boots got it wrong, then they say sit and wait 15 min, while they try and sort it out!! or come back tomorrow, someone at boots needs to sort this place out.
I was in Slaters menswear close by and even there they are talking about how bad it is at Boots.

Have to say a few very helpful staff in the pharmacy Steven, etc who try and help, but it the system and management that is at fault.

If you want a bit of a laugh when you're waiting for your prescription, head on over to Boots Pharmacy.

All in all, the service isn't THAT bad. I mean, I'd rather these people spent a fair amount of time getting my prescription together than just throw any old medication my way. My needs are pretty general and nothing life threatening, so I am quite casual about the whole thing, but maybe people need to take a step back and breathe. I don't see pharmacy workers as the same as doctor's & nurses - yes, they need to know what they're doing, but surely you can't expect the same level of understanding as formal healthcare professionals? Ahem, that rant came from nowhere.

Now, the queing system at Boots is pretty standard. Queue one side to give your prescription in, go the other side to collect. There is a till point closeby for medication that's not prescription - cough medicine etc - and this is where people seem to get utterly confused, lining up at the collection point only to realise that they can't pay for their plasters there. There are signs. Easy to read signs. And a bit ol' sign above the general pharmacy area saying 'prescriptions.'

People hover around the collection point, despite their 20-30 minute wait warning (which only ended up being 15 minutes for me) getting all anxious and tut-ty. Why not take a seat? There are seats. Or have a wander around the shop? In all fairness, the only way to know your prescription is ready is to have your name yelled out, but they do keep on yelling if you don't get on up there straight away.

My experience was pretty fluid - hand in prescription, get told off for not signing it, told 20-30 minute wait, sit down, name yelled, address read to me (rather than me having to tell them which threw me and I would've said yes to anything) and off I went.

If you live in the City Centre, Boots is basically your open option, so take it in with open arms. There are seats, signs, and staff. You get your prescription - eventually.
