Nice contrast to the immaculately groomed gardens at the adjacent Belvedere, including some wonderful, unusual trees like giant sequoias and a bamboo forest. Great place to walk around and rest in the plentiful shade. Many plants blossoming in my early May visit.
And other than the small alpine garden that has a charge (which I didn't visit), it's free!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Aehaab A.Amsterdam, Niederlande81349114. Apr. 2016
A typical botanical garden, which is governed by the university of Vienna. They have a lot of different sections. Alpine, steppe, medical herbs, edible plants.. Rarities.. Gifts from royal families. The place is not big, but has enough to offer. For a place near to the centre, yup will be able to switch off from city life. Let's not forget the major highlights next door the belvedere. I have been there both professionally (studying medical herbs) and for leisure.. It never gets boring.
Just a hint: there are other botanical gardens in Vienna.. But this one contains most of the different habitats.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0
