Bulgogi-Haus

An authentic Korean BBQ place located about 15 minutes drive from the Cologne Cathedral. The set menu consists of: three layered pork belly; sirloin; marinated beef; duck; shrimp; and squid. Bulgogi Haus offered four types of sauces when two is the norm, for varying combinations of flavors. The meats are grilled in front of you on charcoal, and the servers take care to replace the charcoal at least once so that you are not eating burnt pieces of meat.

I really liked the concept of having the side dishes buffet-style. It's really a mood-killer when you run out of lettuce or salad in the middle of eating your meats then waiting for your server to refill your salads. The offerings included fried calamari, Korean-sushi, sticky and sweet potatoes, fish cakes, and kimchi.

Bulgogi-Haus does not seem to use MSG, even in their yummy kimchi, and I was simply content after the meal without having to reach for extra glasses of water.

Kudos for having a coat rack separate from the dining tables so that the coats don't smell like meat after, and kudos for the plum wine/aloe drinks on the house!

Excellent food and service! The staff are all very attentive and ensures you have everything you need for a delicious meal. Not just our table, every table had consistent excellent service. I'm from Australia where there is a large presence of Korean food. Trust me, you will not be disappointed. It was easy travel on the U-Bahn (tram) from Cologne central station. Welcoming break from all the heavy Bavarian food.

This place is very good!!! food smells and taste very good! very friendly staff and are accommodating. we didn't have a reservation but they still had a table for us after a little wait. The wait was well worth it because the food was just amazing! Very good atmosphere, although the place seemed small in the front, the back is very spacious! Love this place I would come back again!

We got litteraly kicked out in a bad manner. First waitress she saw us and say straight away hold on. Second waitress ask us what we was looking for. ( a bizarre question what the hell you're looking into a restaurant) we said a table for 2 and the answer was sorry is to late for eating. We got in at 9:30 pm yelp says they close at 11:00 pm.

Bulgogi-Haus is our favorite Korean restaurant we have found in the area. The food is authentic and they use charcoal in the table grills. Every time we are in Köln we stop here for dinner, sometimes we go to Köln just to eat here. The owner is great and service is always top notch.

The dinner menu is a set meal so you get several types of protein to grill, but we have substituted since our kids do not like seafood. All of the side dishes are terrific too. If you like Korean food you need to stop here.

An absolutely amazing Korean BBQ place, and about as cheap as it gets!
Our meal consisted of bulgogi, squid, beef, duck, and ribs, and every single part of it was delicious! Since it was our first time at a Korean BBQ place, we had a bit of a struggle in the beginning cooking the food. However, the owner's son came and personally helped us out - and he was incredibly kind and spoke absolutely excellent English!
Definitely recommend this place!

Amazing Korean grill, with great service; and more food than you can eat for a great low price. All you can eat Korean salad bar with a tasty selection of kimchi. Served with multiple rounds of delicious marinated and thinly cut meats.

I LOVE THIS PLACE!!! If you're visiting Cologne, you absolutely have to make a stop. Being from San Francisco I have had quite a few great Korean BBQs in my life and Bulgogi Haus definitely tops my list. Not only was the meat super high quality but the banchan (the side dishes) were excellent. One of my favorite parts was Jae, the manager or owner who came over to our table to personally check on us and our grill/food multiple times. He was so welcoming once he learned I was from the United States and even gave me a list of the top restaurants I need to try in Seoul when I go!! Everyone was wonderful, state of the art grills and mind blowing cuisine!!!
