For a decent sized mall, there is not a grand choice of shops. You have your pound shops, news agents, boots, greggs, Argos and some small cafes. It's not been a great shopping centre since woolworths dominated a large portion of the centre which linked it to the other side of King Street. It's reasonably well kept and clean with some new branded signs on each of the entrances. It's good for browsing if your waiting for your bus but that's it'!

Quite a small shopping mall, which is home to about 15 - 20 shops. Its more of a corridor from the bus station through to the bigger shops in King Street in Kilmarnock.
However, its a well maintained mall and has large public toilet facilities, including disabled and baby changing facilities. There is also a bank of payphonesHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (moota2…)Wemyss Bay, Vereinigtes Königreich5178321. Nov. 2008
This Mall is the worst shopping mall which I have been to in my life ever.
It is too small, and very thoroughfare mall, which leads you from the king street to the bus station area.
It is bit run down, and lots of youngsters hanging around, when outside is raining
Not may stores, and they all are rubbish
Even the toilets areas are awful, as they do stink!
I never went back there again for few yearsHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (steven…)Nottingham, Vereinigtes Königreich347124. Nov. 2008
The Burns Mall is a fairly small shopping mall just off Kings street in Kilmarnock. It is the main thoroughfare to the bus station or the underpass to the Dick Institute, the Academy and Kilmarnock College.
Its a pokey wee place with a selection of shops from RS MaCalls and the back door to Woolworths at the Kings Street end to Greggs the bakes and the Butchers at the Bus Station end.
During school lunchtimes and going home time the mall is inundated with kids running and screaming as they try to catch the bus home. Its also not a good place to be at the weekend when its raining as the local kids use it as a hang out. there is a security system in place and the guard try to move on the riff raff but this is not always successful.
At the Bus station end there are a set of toilets which have attendants in place and are, supposedly, cleaned regularly but like all public toilet nowadays they do smell a bit.
All in all its a useful thoroughfare but i would not want to spen any extended time there.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (asset2…)Glasgow, Vereinigtes Königreich0191317. Nov. 2008
This is a small mall which is more of a throughfare. Ok range of shops, Argos, Greggs, JJB etc.
Has free toilets which are clean and staff are visible.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (mitchb…)Kilmarnock, Vereinigtes Königreich3821. Okt. 2008
Small shopping mall, around 20 stores with a few household names, Argos, jjb, woolworths, poundland and some local shops. It would benefit from being bigger in size and with a further large stores presence such as john lewis, debenhams, although i doubt this could happen as their isnt much room with it being in the centre of town.
Its more of a throughfare to the bus station from the end of king street. It is well maintained with cleaning and security staff always visible.
Good toilet facilities and if in Kilmarnock it is well worth a visit as peoples opinion varies depending on the shops they like to visit.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (Kimber…)Darvel, Vereinigtes Königreich35316. Nov. 2008

This is a fairly small mall, which is really only a thoroughfare from the bus station to King Street, and a side door leading to the underpass to the Palace Theatre and London Road. In recent years it has declined slightly, and now includes greggs, woolworths, poundland, moss the chemists, a card shop, farmfoods, a newsagents, a photo shop, aulds, JJB and argos. There is a small cafe in Aulds the bakers. There are public toilets in the mall, which are generally fairly clean and well maintained. I wouldn't recommend a specific trip just to visit the Burns Mall, but if you're walking from the bus station to the town centre then it is the quickest way (and not all that bad really). There is also a farmers market held one saturday a month outside the back of the mall, in the square facing the back of the bus station and greggs.
