I have been coming here for years, their doner kebab sandwich is always delicious and for the price is the best sandwich in DC.

I can't speak for the restaurant, but in the cafe -- food always arrives very quickly, the staff are very friendly, and I always leave content

My husband and I stopped here on a beautiful Sunday afternoon after visiting the flea market. The inside was nicely appointed but we opted for an outside table to take in the sun. I'll put it out there that service was very slow. However, the server was kind and doing her best. The food was phenomenal. Both of us ordered a Pide; he ordered one with meat (I don't remember which one) which was great, I ordered the Feta Cheese Pide and it was amazing. Rich, but delicious.

As a starter we ordered the Mixed Meze Platter and quite honestly, we could have been totally satisfied with that. It was generous servings and all fresh and delicious. We'd go back for that platter alone.

In summary, this place has some pretty critical reviews which I feel are overly critical. My recommendation is take good company of your partner or friends, be prepared for service on the slower slide, and enjoy a fantastic meal.

Ordered delivery from here last night with my mom. We got a good mix of things. Flavor wise, everything was pretty tasty, but I was disappointed in the styrofoam packaging and that the Pides looked like they'd been thru a hurricane by the time they arrived.

The mixed meze platter was tasty but also did not travel well at all and was basically one big clump by the time it arrived. The dolma were really good tho!

Also was just meh about the pachanga boregi.

The kashar Sahanda is not something you should order for takeout or delivery as it basically fused with the styrofoam and wasn't edible.

Updating review. I come here once a week. I LOVE this restaurant. Everything is fresh and well prepared. Melody provides consistent, incredible service. I try different dishes almost every time (that she recommends) and have not been disappointed even once. I came for breakfast last Sunday which is why I am updating. Incredible, wonderful. THE best breakfast I have had in DC. This is where I bring guests. You will NOT be disappointed

I am so conflicted about this place- I love Turkish people and food. I was excited to have Turkish tea and stopped in for an appetizer with my husband. We were seated immediately- then waited forever for service. The place was crowded with only one server.
We waited over 30 mins for food and only got the tea when we asked again. I want to support family establishments. The food was just ok - the olive oil delicious! Great pita bread! But the service was terrible. Other people got up and walked out. Sad.

I stopped in for lunch today and witnessed a horrible woman come in and verbally abuse another customer. The aggressive woman is now posting horrible racial slurs against the owner and lying about the incident..

I was so shocked after dining there this evening that I speculated all the way home about how a restaurant in such a prime spot in Georgetown can get away with such horrendous customer service, mediocre food, and hideous plating. All I could come up with is that this must be a money laundering front for some organization that prefers that the business stay empty ‍

I strolled in at 9:22 on a Saturday night on a jaunt about the City alone. I love Mediterranean and middle eastern cuisine and was in the mood for lamb. I walked in and was ignored as I stood by the host stand. Then a server that I flagged down told me that the kitchen was closed -- at 9:35--when the restaurant closed at 11pm!!
After showing him that Yelp! Was giving me the option of a reservation right then, he agreed to seat me.

I decided on a few appetizers and a glass of Turkish wine. I was never provided water, my Lamb Kofte was cold, fatty, and bland, and the plating left much to be desired, but the ezme was delicious. After realizing that the lamb was quite bland, I attempted to order hummus and more bread-- the waiter takes my last piece if warm pita, comes back summarily to tell me the kitchen is closed and the staff is gone... he then proceeds to leave after which I requested my bread (that he took). He brings an entirely new basket of cold, unappealing pita that I attempted to resurrect with the ezme and kofte. Suffice to say, I needed water.

The best part of my visit was crossing OFF a spot that I thought would make a good date night place. Trust me, unless this is YOUR family's business, it won't.

I had not been here in several years and decided to try it on a snowy day when the place had no customers. Best decision I ever made. Meal started with hot crispy pita bread and Yakut Kavalidere red wine. The wine was light and fruity. I ordered the garden salad and that was a large garden salad fresh and well prepared with feta cheese. It included an array of greens and red lettuce that was very filling. Next, I had the sauteed shrimp that I thought was very good. The music in the background sounded like Turkish folk songs that went well with the meal. I enjoyed it, especially the wine. I will return. And the service was great because I was the only customer there on a Friday night.

You his is just for the sandwiches and pizza. If you are into plain food with natural taste ( tasteless ) no salt herb or spices than this is the place for you. Ordered sandwiches feta n falafel and Vege pizza. Paid around $35 for 3 items take out. Finish half as we were hungry and throw rest away. Actually fed the dog. Not a place I'll come back to.
