Van Puffelen Restaurant Café

Beautiful location and restaurant / Cafe. There is seating up to and almost into the canal! I sat outside and did not go indoors, but it looked quite charming. A mix between old and new Amsterdam. Gezellig indeed!

Friendly service too. Not only for tourists, but it's near the belly of the beast of the tourists area.

But go here for the location and beautiful scenery. Be careful crossing the road if going to the WC from the tables by the canal. Remember to tip your server!

Went to both the restaurant and the bar. Both great! The venison with blackberry sauce was amazing. Bar side is chill vibes and good drinks.

Had Steak Frites and Duck Breast plus a nice sole fish. All delicious. Service was impeccable.

OK, the service and personable servers were AMAZING, the selection of food, and the preparation were out of this world...

Great restaurant because you can eat your dinner next to the canals! They have appetizers, drinks, and a great dinner menu!
My steak was good and filling and the vegetables were good.
The vibes are great cuz you get to see people on boats in the canals as you eat!

Pretty restaurant that we have walked past and wanted to try. Overall it was good, not great. The service wasn't the best. Friendly and helpful when they came by, but that was too infrequent. Things took longer than they should have, and there were only three or four tables of guests.
I like the menu choices and the prices are reasonable. You can do ala carts or two courses (app and entree or entree and dessert) or three courses.
The scallops with chorizo were quite tasty and cooked nicely. The ravioli sounded better than it was and the dish was lukewarm. The dessert we had was good (a chocolate salted caramel cake I think).
We stopped by the bar version next door and loved the music!

Came here for dinner on a Sunday night and it was good! The Fresh Ravioli appetizer good, not amazing but some good flavors. We both had the salmon as our main dish and it was delicious. Not fishy at all/tasted very fresh and was super moist and flavorful. Wouldn't recommend getting the veal cheek appetizer as it was very dry/tough and not appetizing. More of a bar food atmosphere than a nice sit down restaurant for dinner. Decent prices though and the interior is nice!

I stumbled across this lovely cafe on a misty afternoon in the Netherlands finally enjoying some time to venture on my own during a work trip in Utrecht. The combination of Pumpkin, goat cheese and fig in this well-balanced, hearty tart warmed my soul! The waitress was also helpful in suggesting which shops in the area had the best shopping! #cafevanpuffelen

A restaurant on Prinsengracht - the 4th western canal from the center.

We went there as a business dinner. The meal I picked was grilled steak. It probably was the least tender steak I ever had in my life. The ambience is ok, the rest of the food was ok, but wouldn't change my view based on that steak.

Very nicely prepared food and attentive wait staff In a charming bistro. The arugula salad came with a generous goat cheese and walnut tarte. I asked to substitute the fries for cooked veggies-- haricots verts and asparagus were artfully integrated into the salmon dish. My husband's mackerel salad was surprisingly good and interesting and he liked the steak.
