Cathédrale Saint-Nicolas

It is about 4.5 stars. Cathedral Saint Nicolas also know as Russian Orthodox Cathedral. The church outward just like Saint Basil's Cathedral of Moscow. The color and shape is really beautiful. The church not allow pictures inside.

This church is the largest Eastern Orthodox Church in Western Europe. This church is actually belong to Russia. I was surprised that other than embassy, a church property is belong to a different country.

The interior is beautiful. Especially the artifact. There some good painting and art work worth the time to visit. The church building is great for pictures.

This place is magnificent. My girlfriend and I took the guided tour offered daily at 3pm (free with Riviera Pass otherwise €10, offered in English and French). The Sisters there were very nice and knowledgeable. The opulence of the interior is breathtaking, as is the exterior visage. It is a truly remarkable building and a must-see.

when you are in Nice and have some spare time before train leaves, it's great place to walk (about 10 min of brisk walking) over and check out the marvelous church. Sign says Architect came over from Russia to build this cathedral.

It was interesting to find a Russian Orthodox cathedral so far from the motherland, perfect Onion domes and all. It's small, but quite pretty inside and out.

The cathedral is closed for renovation for another year ( we've been told so by the guard). The outside is also covered with construction. You can check the internal patio for the main icon and souvenirs.
