Was on Sonnenallee today and kind of hungry.
I stumbled on this place . I was lucky I did
I ordered special menu, chicken, fries, hummus, garlic sausje ( a kind of aioli) 2 flat breads and salat with red cabbage.
First of all, : you get a lot of food!
I could not even finish it. And normally I can eat loads. So that is good. The bread was fresh and has some sort of garlick spread on it . It was really good. The fries were crispy. That was a big surprise. Usually fries are kind of soggy here in Berlin . These were great the garlic sauce is good . It is a type of aioli. The hummus was also good.
Now the chicken.

The chicken is really fxxxing AMAZING!
The skin is crispy. The taste is an explosion in your mouth . So good.
The inside is so juicy. This is the best chicken I had in a restaurant.
So why 4 stars and not 5? Well I wanted 4 and a half stars. But that is not possible.
The salad and red cabbage were not so nice.
That is the reason. I do appreciate the fact they soaked the cabbage in water so you do not get the color on your clothing . That is nice. But if they have a normal vinigrette it would be better .
Anyway. I already want more chicken, so I will visit this chicken restaurant again very soon.
They are a must tryHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ilkin I.Berlin44371628. Jan. 2016
It's one of the good places to eat chicken in town, but it is definitely not the best.
Actually Risa Chicken on the same street is what I prefer lately.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Kifah A.Berlin282383707. Juni 2011
For me the best location to enjoy a quick grilled-chicken meal.
The location and rest rooms has completely been renovated lately, and is not much 'underground' anymore...and there is space for a group of Friends....make sure to order the grilled minced meat. 'Kufta'....is dummy.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Django Z.Berlin46631. Mai 2016
Passing this seemingly generic fast-food chicken place I always wondered why it was busy round the clock. Then I ordered one of their plates. It was delicious. And huge. The value for money here is incredible. And the taste is definitely above what you would expect. People inside are really nice, too

My boyfriend used to take meditation classes on Sonnenallee, and every time would come home and tell me about this chicken restaurant that we have to visit. Finally he decided to bring me for lunch. We got two half chicken tellers with salad, fries, hummus, and garlic sauce. It's about 50 cents cheaper if you ditch the salad (let's face it: if you're anything like me, it's getting left on the plate anyway). The dish comes with a couple of pieces of Arabische brot so you can make up a little sandwich. The chicken is moist, the skin is crispy, and the fries are pretty perfect too. I'm not a big fan of the hummus (it's alright: just not amazing) and I've had better garlic sauce elsewhere. The atmosphere inside is a bit depressing. It's a bit of a maze, with a decor style that reminded me of Burger King.

Overhyped and I'm not sure why.
As mentioned over and over again in the German-language reviews, the place isn't so clean. The best comment to that however was, "who cares if the tables aren't clean, you're supposed to eat off the plate." Good point. The place is a bit dirty and run-down, but that's never been any skin off my nose when the food is worth it.
IMO, you can get a roasted half-chicken anywhere in the city and not wait half an hour for it. City Chicken often has lines out the door and I'm still mystified as to why. Maybe because I'm a smoker? And I therefore don't pick up on the subtle differences between City Chicken's half a chicken and half a chicken anywhere else that does half a chicken?
There was no ketchup. That I remember. So-so chicken, pommes and salad and no friggin ketchup. Sad.
*a word to the wise
If you want City Chicken, you've got to eat it there. Dirty tables and all.
I took it home and ate it right away and it had coagulated into a disgusting, gummy, almost inedible mess. Not recommended for take-away.*
If you've really got a hankering for chicken, I'd heartily recommend Ris chicken down the street at Reuterstraße. Coleslaw, barbecue sauce, chicken fingers, proper potato wedges, the works. I can't imagine going back to City Chicken any time in then near future, unless for some reason everything else in the city is closed and I'm in danger of dying from low blood sugar. Take your money elsewhere.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (Joanna…)Berlin218417. Dez. 2011
Ok, we dont know where the chicken can come from at such a good price. But morals aside, they are a rotisserie that know what they are doing. The many men behind the tills are friendly and quick. The queues can easily reach 20 people in the evening and on weekends a testimony to what the germans call Preis Leistungsverhältnis. It is win win. Fresh, cheap, and delicious. They waste quite a bit of bread though, by giving a table of two a whole bag of 6 breads..like it was in Lebanon, but we europeans just dont eat that much of that type of bread..
You like chicken? Go there!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Seán S.Eutin, Schleswig-Holstein7738110430. Aug. 2013
I had the No. 2 plate (1/2 roasted chicken, chips, hummus and garlic paste) for 5,50 €. The chicken was tasty and not dry.
