Cock & Crown Brewers Fayre

We visited for the first time tonight and came early as we know that its usually busy. It looks bigger than I'd imagine, we had the carvery, it was very nice, choices of honey roast ham, turkey and beef, plenty of veg to choose from and three different gravies too.
The meat were not dry which is good as I find that its hard to keep the meat moist in carveries, I really enjoyed the wide selection of veg.
Its not exceptionally great but its not bad either. The tables we had was a bit sticky so it would be nice if they were wiped properly. Service was good, we were looked after and the staff are very polite. Will certainly be going back.

I live locally and use this Pub/Restaurant.. You won't get a Carvery meal any cheaper around Wakefield that I know of... Less than £4.00 per person... Clean and tidy but always busy... Because it can be busy this sometimes shows with staff but they do follow there "training" well.... although a smile would help..
Carvery is buffet style.. you get your portion of selected meat or meats and yorkshire pudding you then select as much vegetables/potato/roasts as you want... Tasty enough.
There is a menu for a variety of other meals and of course for a dessert if you can manage one.

Really nice carvery and the prices are pretty good too! I think its a choice of three different meats, and then you can help yourself to as much veg as you want and lots of difference sauces. Also, and this is the best bit, they had a mountain of pork crackling to choose from too!

We called in yesterday after being recommended by a friend, parking was tight but the place was very busy. Inside the the Crown is very spacious with a lot of tables. The decor is modern, open, clean and the atmosphere is friendly as are the staff. You can choose your own table at your leisure then you purchase your meal token from the bar with drinks if you're drinking, I like this method as you can leave when you've finished instead of waiting for the bill. The carvery selection is large, the meat is generous and you can have pie or sausages if you fancy a change to the meat. All food seems like it is kept fresh, three lots of veg were changed while I was serving myself. Personally, we found the food tasted a little bland, no where near as tasty as our local haunt. Excellent place, excellent value, food could be tastier.

Started visiting the cock and crown a few months ago after recommendation from friends about their carvery and they were`nt wrong. The inside is very nice and clean,You order your cavery or any ohter meal they have on their menu from the bar so you can also get your drinks without waiting. The choice on the cavery is great with 3 different meats and a very large choice of yorkshire pubs, stuffing and vegetables. A waitress will always come to your table when you have finished and ask if enjoyed the meal which i find really nice. Great place for cavery in wakefield

We have visited this pub for their carvery on many occasions and each time we have not been disappointed. The food is always fresh, cooked well and hot. I find that the staff are always helpful and very friendly.

Revisited this pub last week after a disapointing visit last year. The food was fabulous with lots to choose from and a really good price. Staff were really friendly, polite and helpful. The lady serving the carvery was fantastic. We all enjoyed the experience and felt so welcome. I will definately return more often.
