Cup of Gold

Since my coffee joint does not have my favorite coffee anymore I needed an alternative. Cup O' Gold's coffee is crap. Every coffee there tastes flavored as they mix and match the coffee pots. What Cup O' Gold can do is make a decent Americano (pretty tough to screw up), and for 20 cents more it's worth it. The girl who works there is great, she knows what I want and will start making it for me if there is a line of people so my Americano is ready when it is my turn. 3 stars for the Americano and the customer service, and one star for the best ice machine on the block. Diet Pepsi on "good" ice is one of my life savers and Cup O' Gold has "good" ice.

That's my story.

This is a small little shop inside a State Employees building. It's located across the street from light rail. It's in a prime location and gives Mercy's Java City down the block a run for it's money for coffee and tea.


They have the best Mayan Mocha and Mayan Cappuccino by far!
Prices are better than most, much less than Starbucks and Java City (at Mercy, hint hint) and no charge for using your debit/credit card!

I work nearby and visit a couple times a week. The girl that makes all the specialty coffee knows her stuff. She's friendly and remembers you and your usual orders! I can simply walk in and say, Yes my usual!

This small but great coffee shop is located just outside the Department of Transportation building right next to light rail.

On a cold winter's morning, I enjoy a hot mocha. I've been quite the Starbucks snob in that I haven't found a place that makes a mocha as good as them.

That was until I ordered a mocha here one day. The barista at Cup of Gold makes the best mocha, hands down. She also does a mean Carmel Latte!

For the few times I have been in, she remembers my order which is very cool and yes, they do not charge you for using your debit card although there is a $3 buck minimum.
