Das kleine Steakhaus

Thr restaurant located at the very center of Cologne. It lies on the shopping street, full of people, it made the entrance not so easy to find. Since the restaurant is inside the building. Just look careful for the right sign when on the way. It took me awhile to find it.

I went there for dinner buffet. The cost was ok, since got the deal with promotion. I found the choice of the food, wasn't as many as I expected, and the potion of each dish was also small than I expected. But the food tasted great. The steak is my favourite. I also like the Shrimp they made. They offered couple different desserts which I tired them all. It tasted great.

I find the restaurant has a really 80th kinda of disco style, especially the ceiling and the bar. Some quite nice painting hang around the wall made it a bit more elegant. The service was very friendly. The restaurant isn't a bad choice to have a meal. The advantage it is really close to the shopping street.

I bought it was very good steak quality for Germany. Nice atmosphere and all food well prepared and beer as always cold and good.

I love going to this restaurant whenever I'm in Köln. I always go for the #3 which has steak, mushrooms and their baked potato.

Their mushrooms are delicious! I could honestly keep eating them all day! The baked potato with the sour cream special is amazing too.

Service is fast as well, and the best part is that the prices are extremely reasonable!

Looking forward to coming back here

Right in the middle of Hohe Strasse, this little steakhouse, located on the second floor with an easily overlooked entrance, allows for people watching while enjoying a great meal. Menus are published with both, German and English descriptions. Hints: the mushroom sauce as well as the peppercorn sauces are great additions to the steaks, which are minimally spiced and do require a little extra. Also great to try: the baked foil potato, the sautéed mushroom appetizer and Gulasch Suppe A personal favorite of mine on this stretch.

Not bad of a restaurant. The entrance is hidden between shop but google maps got it right. I went solo and was seated immediately which was wonderful. Menu is both english and german, so no worries there.
Atmosphere is nice, classy still has life to it. There was a large tables next to mine and they were obnoxious n loud, but I don't think it is this way all the time.
The food, I ordered the surf n turf, fillet was undercooked first but it was corrected and it was tasty, the tiger shrimp was like a piece of rubber! No flavor at all!! But for €33, I'd expect something better, or go somewhere else.

Overall, I'd try this place again but won't order any special dishes, just steak n potatoes and get going.

Typical tourist trap. Busy, mall-like area. Decent menu, higher prices. Their drink menu excited me to see Bourbon. Unfortunately they didn't have any of my first (3) choices, only having Jim, Jack, and Johnnie Black. (They grouped all whiskey family beverages as "whisky") so instead I got a stale beer. None of the steaks seemed appetizing through the translated menu so I got a burger based on a review on Yelp. It was just OK.

Very disappointing for the cost.

This was not a bad place. We were able to be seated right away, despite it being normal European dining hours. The food was okay. The steak I ordered was fine. Not the best I have had, but not the worst either. My kids had burgers. They were pretty salty and kind of dry. The waiter was not so pleasant or attentive.

The food was very good. However, the service was rushed and we felt we were being pushed to finish quickly. The soup we ordered as an appetizer was never delivered nor was the bottle of water we requested. The main course came before we had time to finish our small salad. I do appreciate they took us in without a reservation, but the poor service affected our enjoyment of the otherwise good meal.

Costly but excellent! It's in a really neat place if you want to be in a crowded area and find yourself in a slightly upscale restaurant kind of like, all of a sudden. You'd never know it unless you actually ventured off the beaten path in the Hoe Strasse. Looking out the window at the McDonalds across the street (which is right next to McFit) add to the humor. This steakhouse is very consistent. The butter sautéed mushrooms with your filet will leave you wanting more, and rightfully so. You'll always remember the free sherry aperitif, too. Great little place to escape and have some good steak, once in a while.

I am kind of appalled at the great reviews this place has on here. I found the host was a rude and arrogant when people asked for a table. He sent some away and allowed others. The steak was tough and the fat made it difficult to cut. The salad had an excessive amount of dressing on it. They also would not accept my credit card - what steakhouse does not accept Visa? The ambience is loud with pop music playing over the speakers.
