I love Debenhams, but this store in Chelmsford just isn't for me. Everytime i've gone in it feels like a jumble sale, maybe because its smaller than some of the stores I'm used to and they just don't have enough space to display everything. Being in Chelmsford I was actually under the misconception that I thought this would be a more upmarket store

Central in the high street this large department store offers a wide range of clothing, homeware, footware and gift ideas. It also has a 'Game on the third floor. This store is based over three floors, there is a lift in the middle of the store and two sets of escalators, and two sets of stairs either side of the store. It has a large restaurant on the second floor, and toilets on the third. It sells all the usual brand names you would expect to find. And offers a range of goods to suit most prices. Always busy especially at sale time.

One of the best big stores in Chelmsford. Plenty to choose from - especialy if you are after ladieswear which is spread over 2 floors.

This store has recently been improved, it has a great layout full of different departments. It has my favourite shop inside Jane norman which is on the ground floor which sells great clothes for young fashionable women! It also has a game store on the top level!
This shop has two lifts and moving stairs as well as normal stairs.
This shop also has toilets on the top floor, as well as a lovely little cafe.

Great store! It has changed and improved, you have lifts that work as well as moving stairs.


There is a lot to see. If you head upstairs with a buggy be warnd you would have to wander to find the disabled ramp to avoid the stairs which is annoying when you have children.


The cafe has improved so much! It is lovely, well enjoyed break.


The only down side is the static building when walking and when you press the lift button you get an electric shock!

Best department store on the high street. A good range of concessions offer a wide variety of clothing options. There are clothes for every day to clothes for weddings and other special occasions. There is a brilliant lingerie section which offers free fittings and help and advice in choosing the correct underwear for purpose. The clothes are always good quality at decent prices. The store often holds a blue cross event where great savings can be made throughout the store. The staff are friendly and approachable. The store caters for men, women and children of all ages and is a great place to buy presents.

The store in Chelmsford has recently had a major shift round and I think it has improved it greatly.
On the ground floor is all the mens clothing, perfume and young female clothes makes such as Kookai. Benefit have just enlarged there area downstairs so it is now super big.
Upstairs is all the ladies wear and underwear I really like it grouped like this as before you had some stuff upstairs and some downstairs. On the first floor there is also a very nice cafe.
On the second floor is all the home wear including kitchen items and cushions and towels etc. the toilets are up here too but they are usually very hot, busy and dirty.
There are lifts, escalators and stairs throughout the store.
There is small car park out the back but very close is Tesco where you can park for free for 2 hours.
