Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (tomsk7…)Dublin, Irland14120653. Sept. 2009
Smart gastropub set in a handsome stone building in the attractive vilage of Beeley.
The pub is owned by the Chatsworth estate and serves lovely food and well-kept real ales. There is also an extensive wine list.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Crystal W.Foothill Ranch, Vereinigte Staaten48944915. Sept. 2013
Hands down the best place I stayed in all of the UK.
Coming from America I was so excited to stay in a little country village and just relax. I got everything that I wanted.
With just 8 rooms (4 above the pub and 4 located in a cottage just a few steps away) the inn was so quaint. Our room was located in the cottage and it was huge! Also, it was equipped with plenty of water and snacks.
The food was also fantastic in the pub. We had dinner both nights we were there and weren't disappointed. May I recommend whatever the soup of the day is and the sticky toffee pudding? YUMMY!
Breakfast was also super impressive. The breads, croissants and fresh fruit were so fresh.
OH and the service was impeccable. So friendly and accommodating.
If you are heading out to Chatsworth House, exploring the Peak District or just want to relax you need to stay here.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Howard Z.Los Gatos, Vereinigte Staaten111202419. Okt. 2009Erster Beitrag
We enjoyed a quiet dinner on a cold autumn evening in early October. We sat in the restaurant side out of the bar area and got a quiet table.
The place is low-key and had a mix of travellers like ourselves as well as some local people. Food was well above average for pub food in England. As is usual in Britain, it took a long time to get our check at the end but otherwise this is a fine pub with very good food.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Andy V.Bexley, Vereinigtes Königreich0142026. Located on the edge of Baslow this is far enough away from the summer bustle to be relaxed. It has an informal feel whilst still remaining classy.
We stopped by for a bit of lunch & ordered a meat sharing platter, a bowl of chips & some bread. It was promptly delivered and very enjoyable, especially the platter & the bread.
The platter consists of a couple of tasty British sausages, a good portion of a trio of salami, pâté, a couple of slices of Parma ham and came with a token amount of bread, barely enough to cope with the ample portion of pâté. If you like bread with your meat then I humbly suggest you order the appetiser of breads to come with your platter.
Another plus point is that there's also a good quality, complimentary wifi for those of us addicted to our i-devices.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0
