This is my first time traveling to Germany. I thought visiting Berlin would be fun, so here I am. I got hungry and looked up what places have good food and decided to eat here. When we got here it wasn't too busy, but people kept coming in. The waiter, Tony, is the only waiter working right now and he's doing a fabulous job. He has at least 13 tables that he is serving all at once, he's answering the phone, he's switching from speaking German to speaking English within seconds which is hard to do when you're focusing on it. He deserves such an applaud for doing all of this AND still having a great attitude. This is the place to go and Tony is the guy to ask for.

Sooooooooooo.... After am awesome workout at the gym on Christmas wandered rhe streets of Berlin in search of a culinary introduction to "Yole tide". Almost ended up at am Irish and an Italian restaurant but the universe directed to Republik. The food was phenomenal. The wait staff were fluent in English and German (great as my English sucks ). They served promptly and with professionalism and courtesy. Definately coming back.

When in Berlin this is a great option. Selection of food & beer is top notch. Atmosphere is lively & fun. Service is attentive, helpful & prompt. The faux stock ticker on the beer indicating price fluctuations is a clever idea. Fun. Prices flucuate so enjoy the occasional discount.

Great stop for a tourist afternoon. Nice view over the Spree in good weather, pleasant dining room. Lots of selections of beer. And better food than the usual. The Currywurst was genuinely good with lots of spice in the sausage itself as well as the sauce. Very good farmer's salad with lots of meat and potato. Nice flammekuchen. And as a bonus, some of the fastest WiFi I've found in Germany. This isn't some secret locals-only special old Berlin bar, it's a bit generic. But it's a good convenient place with lots of beer and better food than average.

This place is so much fun!
Big beer selection - you won't care about the "market" - get one first and then while you're surveying the menu, check out the portions that people are getting. We decided to split a main and get a salad, that was too much for us. But, delicious.
And the place is fun. At least in winter, almost everyone was conversing in German, and having a pretty good time. If you can time for your visit for sunset, so much the better.
Anyway - go for the fun, stay for the large selection of beers and good food. If I lived here, I'd bring every visitor here and try to meet my friends here as often as possible.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Guglielmo S.Neapel, Italien4713023622. Feb. 2016
This is a very nice place where you can taste lovely beer and German food at a good price.
I liked everything over there, the place is cozy with a tipical German look.
On the wall they have TV showing the realtime cost of beers on the market.
The staff is nice and welcoming.
They serve traditional German food, and it's tasty, with a good variety of beers.
I took the 3 type sausages dish, in this way I was able to taste a good variety of their food, and it was not disappointing.
I oredered a 500ml weiss beer too and it was lovely.
The bill was under the everage, would love to go back thereHelpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Chris F.London, Vereinigtes Königreich762531149417. Dez. 2008
Good food, good beer (and choice of beer!) and friendly service. I also enjoyed watching the beer prices change on the stock market like screen. Recommended.

This restaurant/café/kneipe is sat upon the banks of the river Spree. It's a really excellent place to get a real sense of Berliner culture. It has an incredible selection of beers and after 6pm operates a bizarre system where the price of each beer changes depending on what is selling well. A bit like a beer stock market. The menu offers meals from around 3-15 Euros, which is great value for the hearty, tasty, truly Berlin-y food. I had a potato soup and a local beer and it came to seven Euros. The waitress was really helpful, bringing me an English menu and was generally very efficient and friendly. Wunderbar.

This pub was recommended by a staff member at our hotel, and it did not disappoint. It was the evening after the Berlin marathon, so it was packed. Some tables were marked as "reserved," so we opted to sit at the bar. We were able to order food there as well. Service was good for it being SO busy, but the bartender was brusque and not very nice. He was the friendliest when my husband opted to pay in cash versus by card. I wanted a hefeweizen beer, but it wasn't listed as such on the (extensive!) beer menu. When I mentioned this, he retorted, "Of course we have hefeweizen, this is Germany!" in a rather harsh, impatient tone. He pointed it out on the menu, and it wasn't listed as "hefeweizen," so how was I to know this as an American?? Perhaps a more knowing beer connoisseur would know this, but hey, isn't this part of his job, to help customers understand the menu? Ugh! I ordered the schnitzel, which was plentiful and served atop a nice, warm potato mixture. Schnitzel was crisp on the outside and moist inside. Yum! Yes, I did enjoy the hefeweizen too....
