Dieter Sanchez

The cheese steak sandwich reminded me of Philly cheese steak snack home. Genuine! The sliced meet and cheap cheese is perfect. Even the buns were genuine. The selection of beer is good with Schneiden Weizen in tap. My son had a burger, and said "it is the best burger I've had in nine years" (he is nine years old).

Good stuff, but a bit pricey. You get huge portions for the money, though. But even as someone who does eat A LOT, I would probably have preferred slightly smaller portions for a slightly better price. At least that's true for the Cheesesteak sandwich, which is worth it for the experience but also extremely filling. Only thing I didn't love about that sandwich were the bell peppers (very mushy).

There's lots of other interesting stuff on the menu, so I will probably be back to try more of that out.

The hubby had bookmarked Dieter Sanchez awhile ago. I think we were more amused by the name of the place than excited about the prospect of trying a very highly rated cheesesteak place in Hamburg at the time. We also didn't think we would try it out until some distant time down the line simply because it's pretty out of the way for us. Thanks to our first Hamburg Yelp event, we found ourselves just a stone's throw away from Dieter Sanchez. We arrive a bit before 6pm and were seated right away. A few minutes later, a crowd started to form so great timing us!

We ordered the Dieter Sanchez cheesesteak and bbq pulled pork sandwiches. The cheesesteak here totally beats the cheesesteak I had in Philly. The mixture of beef, mushroom, peppers, onion and cheese, smothered in bright orange cheese sauce was divine. The roll, which barely contained the wonderful beefy content, was soft yet crunchy from the corn meal coating. The pulled pork sandwich was stellar too. Great bbq flavor with added crunch from the thinly sliced cabbage. The side of fries was awesome and extra crispy. We washed it all down with some beer and wine.

The staff was friendly and attentive. The place itself has a very cool, divey feel. This might be the place to take our newly arrived visitors as it's not too far from the airport. Can't wait to come back!

I traveled 5,600 miles and finally found the best cheesesteak in or out of the United States. Something about the combination of the different cheeses, mushrooms, steak and soft bread is amazing. Would come back to Germany just to go here again.

Owners are great as well. Be sure to try the mate soda.

Hilarious and clever name, but seriously good food here. This place should be featured in a Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives in Deutschland!

Highly recommend the Dieter Sanchez cheesesteak and the pulled pork sandwiches. Which was ultimately the better of the two? Probably the cheesesteak, but I still thoroughly enjoyed my half of the pulled pork sandwich as well. The cheesesteak, however, was one of the best I've had in ages! Hot melted cheeses over perfectly seasoned thin cuts of beef with some veggies mixed in for good measure, and all held in a perfectly toasted yet soft roll. Both sandwiches were accompanied by a hefty portion of extra-crisp and well-seasoned fries. The sandwiches are a hot mess, but a deliciously hot mess!

Left the place stuffed. You would probably need to save up two cheat days before you eat here. But it would be worth it!

Amazing place. you won't regret it, unless you hate fun. yelp told me I have to write more so I will. The staff is super friendly and give you an immediate chill vibe. Food was nice bar food and the pulled pork was actually spicy.

Excellent. Home made burgers. Finally. You're going to be putting on some grams here if you don't go for the salad. But hey. It's a burger bar. Also good mix of drinks.

We finally had a chance to stop by Dieter Sanchez. It staff was very nice and the location is very cool. The food was very good especially the pulled pork. There are some parking spaces available around the corner. It is not possible to reserve a table. Enjoy.
