Eastern Bus Service

I bought bus tickets from this company to take my family to the Woodbury outlets. The bus was half an hour late, they kept saying the bus was close when we called to inquire.

The trip there was fine, but when we were getting ready to head BACK to the city, the driver announced that there was a MANDATORY $3 tip per person. He walked through the aisle to collect it from everybody on the spot. He was argumentative and rude toward passengers who refused to pay the tip. A very uncomfortable situation--felt like a robbery. Tips are a gesture of appreciation; I have never seen any service provider be aggressive like that. The bus company should tell people in advance about extra fees. I don't like confrontation/tension, and didn't feel comfortable watching the driver argue with people.

Would NOT recommend.

I wish I read the reviews before ordering this service. This "bus" is actually an old, smelly, dirty minivan in need of service. The driver didn't speak English, except for when he demanded $5 tips from everyone before driving us home and then screamed profanities at us when we left. His driving was atrocious and the car disgusting so we didn't tip him at the end and he flipped out. I think the company may not be paying their drivers, which would explain why he was so aggressively demanding tips from everyone.

I understand this a cheap routed bus to D.C. and back, so I don't expect high standards but I do expect HUMAN empathy. Myself among a few elderly passengers had a dire need to use the restroom and before departing the restrooms were horrible with urine and paper towels everywhere. When awaiting a stop for the four hour commute the driver told us no, and did not make a stop. WE PLEADED to stop as the restrooms were not useable. PLEASE USE ANYONE BUT THIS BUS SERVICE - THEY ONLY CARE ABOUT THEMSELVES. Pay the extra ten bucks for bolt or megabus if needed from DC to New York vice versa.

Their service has improved and been better now. We took new buses which look nice and clean. The driver gave good service and nice smiles after this nice trip. My friend and I didn't wait for a long time. Everything is quite beautiful!!

Like the other reviews, the website looks nice and professional. The van to Woodbury Commons was dirty and the driving skills of the driver were horrible. He also asked for a tip of $5 per passenger before we were dropped off.

I am standing here in new York at 5 pm after my 430pm bus left without me because the ignorant, disrepectful eastern employee would not allow me to get on MY bus at 430 and made me get back in line and wait for the next bus.


He says the next bus is at 530 and I have to wait and if I have a problem to call customer service.

Pay the extra money and take another bus service. This service does not care about their customers and will not communicate with you at all about what is going on.

Very dissapointed by the lack of service from this company. I bought a ticket to Woodbury Common and was at the designated stop area on 14th street half an hour prior to departure time. They did not come by this stop. I have rung and left a message as they dont answer thwir phone, and emailed asking for a refund but had no response. Do not use this service.

The driver was late to pick us up to Woodbury Outlet. Then he told us the regular size bus couldn't fit us, so we have to go to a private van at the back (which is totally different than what we thought). When we were heading back to the city, the driver told us that we have to pay him additional $3 tip per person in order to go back. We were shocked cause non of the other shuttle bus company have to pay the tip. He refuse to drive, then he called someone from the company to talk to us. But the person didn't tell us any reason and keep telling us to pay the tip. And they even blamed us for the mistake. It was a disaster. Then the driver got really angry and start driving and U turn without closing the door while everyone is seating inside. It's not about the $3 tip per person it's about the attitude!!! Moreover, It's VERY dangerous!!!!!!

The "luxury" bus was filthy and only a rat would find it habitable. Seriously, it looks like it was bought for $10 and no one ever bothered to work on it. The driver was rude, confusing with his instructions, and basically held a bus hostage tonight - we expected to be dropped off at the same pickup points, only to be taken to an entirely different route and be expected to just know where we were. Three women had paid extra to be dropped at their hotel, but the driver cussed them out and the manager kept hanging up on them when they gave their booking details. Every passenger was getting distressed. I jumped off the second it stopped anywhere and left just as passengers were calling the police. There is no storage for bags or suitcases so you'd better get used to sitting beneath a pile of your own shopping for two hours. The driver doesn't bother counting the passengers before going to make sure everyone's accounted for, so you need to either show up or you're screwed. Oh, and they have the audacity to stick a sign up the front demanding - not requesting - that each passenger pay a tip. Spend a few bucks extra on a more reputable service and save yourself a world of misery.
