Can't say much about staying here, but I can tell you that the bar is definitely worth checking out!
So much so, that we actually came here two nights in a row. That's right - TWO NIGHTS!
Hostels are always a great place to meet a lot of really awesome people. They are also a great place to meet a lot of really freaking weird people.
Don't worry about it though, cuz it will be painfully obvious who is there to have a good time and who's trying to have a good time at the expense of your good time. Like the 60+ year old doofus who was so drunk and sloppy, trying to hit on EVERYTHING and causing a huge ruckus and scene when he was promptly kicked out.
Don't be that guy X___X

Stayed for one night and it was great. Rooms are clean and secure, each floor also requires a room key for access. There is a storage room and also lockers you can use for a €2 deposit.
Located a block from the central train station and 10-15 minute walk from old town. The best part is the bar, very lively during happy hour with other fun travelersHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - James P. B.München, Bayern019540826. Juni 2017
I can't comment on the hostel part, but the bar has decent beer special before 8pm(?)

This hostel was great! Because we came during Oktoberfest the dorms were quite pricey. However it was worth it. The location is great. Close to Munchen Hbf and only a short distance from the Oktoberfest grounds if you're coming here for that.
All you can eat breakfast was included in our stay and the food was good! Wifi worked well throughout the building. Good vibes in the bar. I am especially happy with the outstanding customer service by all the staff here. They are very knowledgeable about the surrounding area. On the day we checked out we had kept our bags in storage until 11pm that night... after we came back from our day tour they let us back into
The hostel freshen up before catching our night bus to the next place. Thanks! Hope to be back next year :)Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 26. Juli 2012
Euro Youth Hostel was the first hostel I had ever stayed at, and it really set the bar pretty high. We stayed in private 2-person rooms, and had no problem with shower availability in the shared hall bathrooms. The location is perfect, just steps to the train station, and about a 10-15 minute walk to the walls of the Munich Old Town.
The best part about the hostel though is the fact that there is a BAR located on the ground floor that serves 2 Euro jager shots and cheap drinks. And it's actually a pretty fun bar... One of my friends is from Germany and came from Stuttgart to meet up with us for a night. She even really liked the bar, despite the fact that it was full of tourists and in a hostel. The place was clean. I felt safe in a co-ed room. The breakfast was tasty and filling. I would definitely return.

If you're looking for a typical hostel experience in Munich, look no further. Euro Youth Hostel will give you exactly what you're looking for and in a clean, safe package to boot.
It's less than a five minute walk from Munchen Hbf (main train station) to the hostel, which is on a small side street with several other hostels. It is about a 10-15 minute walk to the central area of Munich, with shops, restaurants, and other attractions.
The front lobby is warm and attached to the bar/restaurant, with attentive and efficient front desk staff. Check in process was quick and easy, and they have a safe room behind the front desk to store your luggage in if you've arrived too early to go up to your room. Free wifi was fast and easy to use with a password shared with guests at check-in.
We had a private double ensuite room, so I can't speak to the dorm rooms. But our private room was great. The bed was big and reasonably comfortable, the bathroom was big and clean, and the whole room was very nice and warm. When we went down to the bar in the evening, prices were nice and cheap and it was hopping. Many guests from all around the world: exactly what you hope to see at a hostel.
Continental breakfast in the am was not amazing but since we got a free ticket to eat, can't complain much about free food.
I would definitely recommend this hostel to travelers, even if you're not the typical clientele (read: young person looking to party). Their private rooms are very nice and much cheaper than at a typical hotel. And it's a very safe place with multiple locked doors, if you're nervous about safety.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 1 - Kurt G.Denver, Vereinigte Staaten24524913111. Juli 2013
Euro Youth hostel was everything I expected. It was very clean, had a very friendly and knowledgeable staff, and it was not too expensive.
My wife and I stayed in their big dorm for 2 nights and then a double room for one night. The dorm room was nice and clean yet unassuming. Individual lockers were available with each bed, but bring your own lock. You can purchase cheapies from the front desk, but it looks like they could be broken without much of an effort. The double room was every bit as nice as a full service hotel but for half the price.
The bar downstairs was a nice touch as well - it was cheaper than most bars in town, and was very happenin' every night we were there. Very young crowd (shouldn't be surprised given the name, I guess), and very international. Good place to hang out and meet other travelers. It's on a bit of a sketchy street (super close to the train station which is a plus if you want to get in and out of town easily), but the place itself feels very safe. You had to pass through 3 locked doors just to get into our dorm. Little overkill in my book, but I am sure my wife liked it. Reserve early - we were there in the offseason and they seemed were close to fully booked.
I would definitely recommend staying here to anyone looking for a fun/budget option in MunichHelpful 2Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Chris H.Swansea, Vereinigte Staaten23772318. Aug. 2010
I stayed here for 10 days while I was in Munich, and it was probably the best 10 days of my life. The hostel is literally only 250 feet from Hauptbahnhof train station, and a 5 minute walk to the old city and Marienplatz. The staff are young, friendly and accommodating and the bar in the hostel is great. I met many new friends there, and they serve up cold Augustiner Helles on draft as well as several other fresh bottled beers. Don't expect to get world class mixed drinks here, as the majority of the drinks served are beer and Jagermeister.

One of the dirtiest places you will find in Munich. broken chairs, peeling paint, discarded cigarettes on the floors, I have to think hard to find worse. The bar was the worth part with bartenders too busy on their phone to take your order and the number of panhandlers pushing in from the streets and smoke weed kills any safe/hygienic/vacation vibe you might be expecting.
