I have never had glasses before but it was time. I searched for the best in the area online and asked my family for a referral. All roads led to Eyecare Associates. I am a new patient. Setting up the appointment was a straight forward experience. I called in and got a receptionist right away. I was given an appointment just days away. It was fortunate considering the next available time was months away. I wanted to be seen as soon as possible and they made that happen for me. I was given great directions on how to get to the office and informed of what to expect upon my arrival. I was calmed down when I was getting anxious. I was encouraged to submit documents online in preparation for the appointment. I submitted all the documents for new patient.
The day of the visit I was running late. It was my fault, had a work thing. I arrived 15 minutes after the scheduled appointment time. Before I could ask for mercy it was granted by Ms. Pineda at the front desk. I was handed the new patient forms. I was grateful. I had to refill all the paperwork because it wasn't received. Minor technical issue. Not a big deal. I waited patiently and watched the receptionist treat everyone with respect, care, and urgency. I felt like I was in a place that cares about patients. I was then admitted for testing and quickly got to Dr. Thibodaux. He was great with me. He shared a ton of knowledge with care and made me feel comfortable with the news. I avoided eye dentist before because of prior experiences with healthcare professionals. This more than restored my faith. I am glad I went there. I have gone here for 18 years. I called to get an appointment before the end of the year to get new contacts before my benefit expires, however, there are no appointments available that I can make. The contact lady I spoke with just kept telling me that my prescription was is expired so there is nothing they can do to help me. I get the same prescription every year and I am not having any problems with my vision. I told her I would make an appointment for after the first of the year but want to get contacts now, all she kept saying is my prescription is expired and they could not help me, over and over again. I will not go back here again as they are only concerned with making money and not with helping their patients.

Prescribed me medicine my insurance didn't cover, was very difficult to sort that out as they only take messages and wouldn't call me back. Cancelled my follow up and went to another practice. Received my bill from eye care of $200, the other place... $100 and received much better care and customer service.

This company just lost 2 new patients. I brought my daughter in for an exam and the assistant asked if she would like to try a pair of new contacts with a moisturizer in them. My daughter hated them. She wore them for 2 days and had to throw them away and put her old contacts back in. I received a bill from Eye Care Associates for $54. I questioned the bill and the lady on the phone told me I was charged for the fitting of those contacts. Wow, I was charged for the fitting of a trial pair of contacts. I'll never do business with this place again.

I have been waiting on contact lenses since December 2022, it is now June 2023. One lie after the other. My insurance has fully paid for the lenses and I still cannot get them. First lie was that they were not covered by my insurance that has been paying for my contacts for more than 15 years through VSP. Second, third, forth lie was that the person who issues the lenses was not in the office, even though I am standing in the office and she is sitting at the contact lenses desk. Final lie is that I have to schedule another appointment with the doctor (in 15 years never had to do) in order to get the lenses. Completely incompetent staff.

There are parts of this practice that are 5-star and parts that are 1-star. I had been coming here for years and have moved and all along have been stalling on this review. On one hand, I really like Rhonda in the contact lens department and appreciate the professionalism of Kevin Kasovich but on the other I absolutely detest the administrative staff on the phones.
Dr Kasovich is a lot over the top. Too thorough if it's possible. After awhile I asked that we just go through the full dilation and testing procedures of 3 hours once a year. We struck a deal and 6 months later he tried to do it again. I literally walked out of the waiting room after my regular vision exam I was so disgusted. I will say that he is an excellent doctor and a really nice guy.
The phone staff are rude. Just rude. I called to make an appointment once and the person on the phone demanded to know why. I tried to explain that it wasn't my idea and that Dr Kasovich wanted to see me every 6 months. I wish I could have recorded it. She proceeded to give me a hard time about it and hung up on me. I have no idea why.
The desk staff are just plain unfriendly. Not a smile, no greeting, nothing. How hard is it? Are you doing me a favor or am I your customer? I can go somewhere else right? I don't know if I can really recommend this place overall. I would have to have found a better place in the New Orleans area and have since left. Maybe this is as good as it gets here. Qualified docs but don't expect to be seen at your appointment time. I have been a patient here (on and off) for 20 years. I am always on time or early for my appointment. Rarely am I called back at my appointment time. More occasion's than not, I wait at least 30 minutes to an hour to be seen. I stopped using Eyecare Associates after too many hours wasted in the waiting room. I went back only because my eyes require special care and I do believe the doctors here are the best I've found but my time is as valuable as theirs. Just be aware if you schedule an appointment here plan on spending most of your day there

This is my second yearly eye exam/contact fitting and the second time I'm waiting over 6 weeks for trial contacts to arrive. As someone who wears contacts daily for the past 20 years, this is the first doctor who has ever put me in custom lenses that take nearly 2 months to fill. I've been forced to wear the same pair of old contacts with no relief in site and will be stuck with the trial contacts for who knows how long until my actual prescription arrives. Staff has zero empathy and just puts the blame back onto the manufacturer.

I had an appointment on February 6th for an annual eye exam. It took an hour and a half and probably would have taken longer had I not had another appointment and told the assistant I had to leave. Today is march 14 and I still have no contact lenses. I originally placed my order through 1-800-contacts. After waiting a week for my contacts to ship I received a notification from 1-800 contacts that they had reached out to my physicians office and that my prescription was incorrect so they canceled the order. At this point I called the office to find out instead of canceling the order, why wouldn't they just give the correct prescription to the company. At that point I asked the person at Eyecare associates to place the order through them. She quoted me over $800 for a 3 month supply of contacts. I said that is too expensive can you please order my Acuvue lenses which were a better value. She said yes they will be here in a week. I called after a week and left a voicemail for Ashley, a couple hours later heard nothing back. So I drove over there, Ashley was out of the office and I was told my contacts would be in today. I drove to the office today and was handed one pack for my left eye only and it was the original contacts that I declined due to the price. I was then told that they only had my lenses for my left eye and they would have to order the ones for my right eye. I asked for trial lenses and was told they don't have them. I stood at the desk to order the correct lenses only to be told that my lenses are discontinued. I asked for a different brand or type of lense and then was told if I wanted to do that I would need to see the MD again. At that point I said forget it, I will figure it out on my own and walked out. Called the office when I left to get connected to the office manager (Claire) who was in a meeting at 1:30. Called back at 3:45 to be told that she had received my message but had left for the day and she will return my call in the morning. To say I'm frustrated would be an understatement. I am floored at the lack of care and customer service I received.
