Lovely, quaint farm-to-table restaurant in a space converted from a former neighborhood corner produce store/stand. Interior still retains the produce shelves which now display sweets and jams also for sale.

The meal here was incredible - dishes were carefully balanced and portioned, and the taste? Perfection. I had the halibut - which was done beautifully: delicately crispy on the outside and melt-in-your-mouth but firm texture on the inside. Dessert was a chocolate plate (what's not to love, right?) partnering a small dense chocolate ganache cake morsel, decadent chocolate mousse, and a scoop of an absolutely amazing chocolate berry sorbet.

If you're ever in Munich, come and enjoy this lovely establishment.

I came here for one dish: the truffle spaghetti.

They put fresh, hot spaghetti into a huge parmesan bowl, toss that with truffle oil and as the hot noodles melt the parmesan it puts this delicious coat on them. Then, they shave black truffles on top.

If you like truffle anything, then I highly recommend this dish. The portion is a bit on the small side, but it's perfect because it is rich so you'll be content after and not overly stuffed.

Good food at reasonable price - enjoyed the out door seatings. Fish and asparagus was fresh, the lamb was well cooked - cannot ask for more than all these. Yeah!

We stopped in for coffee and desert and loved this place. It was classic but smart. Everything we had was delicious. I had a nice barbera with a chocolate & pear tart. My wife had what she described as the best coffee she had during this trip to Munich. The waitress was extremely pleasant.

Wow. Fantastic. Great service, great food. 2 chefs...one Italian, one French. Brilliant combination. I had the chili gambas as a starter (fresh, perfectly seasoned and great presentation). For the main I had the sea bass with asparagus and potatoes. 2 potatoes slightly undercooked but completely overlooked by how well prepared the main was and the asparagus. The asparagus was meaty and not soaked in butter and sauce like most places in Germany. I was able to walk out and not feel like I added 100 lbs to my waistline. Apple tarte was also well done. Bravo! Best restaurant in Lehel. Not cheap but worth it.

The Gandl bills itself as a food store, but make no mistake, it's a restaurant, and an upmarket one at that. Go there for a rich, exquisite brunch.

Best spagetti w/ truffles known to mankind. Only downside...available Mon-Fri for lunch only :(.
