The food is absolutely delicious and high quality. The service is very kind and approachable. The ambiance is good. I loved everything about this place. I had the Nordic breakfast and lemon pie. The best lemon pie I have ever tasted. The breakfast was really good. The prices are perfect. It's really rare when I have no critique.

Went here because we saw online that it had some of the best German cheesecake and my boyfriend is obsessed with German cheesecake. They in fact did not have German cheesecake, but more of an American style cheesecake which was slightly disappointing, but to no fault of the business.

They indeed did have the best cakes that I have ever eaten- though it was not the cheesecake. I had a rhubarb streusel cake which was absolutely delicious.

The ambiance is café-like with comfy couches and chairs in the back room and some outdoor seating in the front.

My friends also ordered some of their food items which they were surprised with how delicious they were- the vegetarian curry and the potatoes with Béchamels sauce. Yum!

Overall a great experience. Would definitely come back!

A charming cafe just five minutes walk from the Central Station. You enter through heavy doors and then again through maroon curtains. Inside, it's cozy and welcoming - a bit cramped, but it's part of the charm after leaving the cold winter outside.

We had a late lunch and tea. The tea was plentiful and complemented by a small sugar cookie. My soup of the day was a leek and ham kind, which was wonderfully tasteful and warmed me up inside out. The ample ham kept me full past dinner time, even with the one bowl of soup.

My dad had a quiche, which came with a salad, and 4-layered nut cake. I saw that many people stopped by for dessert-to-go as well.

I would return to catch up with friends!

Brunch! All day brunch! :) Had one of the best brunches in Germany, thus far. Ordered the Farmer's Breakfast omelette: a huge helping of eggs, fresh sliced potatoes, and bacon mixed into the omelette, and the add-on mixed salad for €8.70! So delicious and fresh, I'm so thrilled with my choice! The atmosphere is comfortable, with outdoor seating.
Note: fresh orange juice is expensive at €3.90 for half a wine glass worth!

I had brunch at this delightful little cafe this morning. Fabulous vintage decor, friendless staff great atmosphere. I had a nice conversation in English with a friendly waiter who provided me with an English menu.
I chose the Pauli breakfast and was extremely happy. Cheeses, meats, breads, cucumber, cherry tomato, orange juice. Wow. I added bacon and orange juice.
      So much fresh, scrumptious food!
I recommend this little cafe and if back in Germany I'd happily return.

The cakes and desserts here are amazing. There is such a wonderful variety and every single one looks delicious. The environment is also very cozy and welcoming, the aesthetic is great. My only complaint is that the teas are very overpriced. Paying 4.40 euros for a cup of tea is crazy to me.

When staying in a hotel in Hamburg, one does not need a hotel breakfast, really.

The city has so many bakeries and cafes that provide brunch / breakfast everywhere. If you don't have time and don't care much about the early meal intake, you can just head out to U-bahn station and get your croissant and coffee from there, no biggie.

However, I'm the kind of person who would like to sit down, hang out in a cafe, eat proper breakfast (read: not (just) bread) when I'm traveling. Obviously, this cafe comes up in a list of breakfast hangout near St. Georg.

Gnosa is like old school Parisian style cafe. It has more room in the back with marble table and comfortable lounge chair. They have breakfast all day (did you read that --- ALL DAY) and they have their own Gnosa special menu.

I chose the scrambled egg with ham (rührei mit schinke) that came with two toasts and butter and orange juice while Richard S ordered Italian breakfast with bread and sliced meats. My scrambled egg was good, but not as good as I had in Mutterland, so that place kinda ruins it for me here, while the Italian bread looked a bit boring despite it was loaded with so much bread and meat (egg and orange juice included).

I think it's pretty ok breakfast for the price. My omelette is 4.90 euro, so I can't really ask for more than what I have.

Service is ok. At first the waitress was sort of throw the menu to our tables but that was also because she was busy serving other table. Still, I would expect she would wait a bit with bringing the menu instead of just tossing them to our table.

If you are in Hamburg, don't miss out on this Cafe. The food and service are supurb. My friends and I discovered this cafe on our first night in the city. It was so good we returned on our last evening in Germany.

Their tomato soup should not be missed. It is well-seasoned and the dollop of cream on the top mixes wonderfully. We each had different main dishes, all were good. On our second visit I had the bacon quiche which not only had a wonderful filling but also a delicious crust. I'm usually particular about my pie crust and this one was better than I've had in a long time (other than my own). :-)

Speaking of pie crust, I can't forget about dessert. When you walk into the restaurant you pass a display case of wonderful creations of their pastry chef. Since it was the day after my birthday we were still celebrating and all had something different. One of my friends had the apple strudel which was far better than any I've tasted before. My other friend had the nut torte which had its ends dipped in dark chocolate. What a great combination. I had the rhubarb pie. Again the wonderful crust, tart rhubarb and whatever the wonderful creme it was suspended in all were wonderful. A good tip: if you get the strudel or the rhubarb, order the whipped cream. It completes it.

I went to café gnosa today & I had an extremely positive experience. I ordered the kleines frühstück st. georg (without the meat) & also rührei von 3 eiern w/ toast.

I was brought my scrambled eggs, 2 slices of white toast, 2 slices of schwarzbrot, 1 roll (brötchen), a place of cheeses, strawberry jam, butter, a few grapes, and some little salady garnish thing. and coffee!

it was a lot of food, too much for me to finish, and the whole thing was less than 10 euro. and it was delicious!

and they serve breakfast until 4 pm every day.

      awesome!
