Updating my review over 9 years later!
We moved closer to the area and tried this place again many years after our first visit. I'm sure my tastebuds have changed with age, as well as my preferences, but I have to say I was surpised at how much I enjoyed the pita and the bowl. My husband now regular gets take out here for our dinner. We always get the chicken with falafel and feta cheese added.
The food is always fresh and I appreciate that I can get a relatively healthy meal that still satisfies.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 121. Okt. 2014Vorheriger BeitragI was excited to try this place out after reading all the positive reviews since I love Mediterranean food. This place is just like a Mediterranean Chipotle, which is across the street.
I got the bowl, boyfriend got the pita, both half & half falafel and chicken. We were both disappointed.
Shwarma chicken - just ok, nothing special
Falafel - very good but not outstanding. High point of the ingredients.
Pita - We got to try a sample, which was nice of them, but I wasn't impressed. Maybe because I just don't like untoasted bread/pita.
The other fillers were pretty basic. Salad greens, couscous, chopped cucumbers/tomatoes (not enough tomatoes), hummus, tahini sauce, "hot sauce" which was not even 1% spicy to me, a few other things I can't remember. They had this eggplant mush, which I wasn't crazy about at all. I added the feta cheese for the extra 75 cents, which helped to redeem my bowl a bit.
Overall, the ingredients themselves were fine. But taken as a whole, I really felt it fell flat. The hummus drowned out everything so there weren't any layers of flavors. Yet without the hummus, everything would have been really bland. A good tzatziki sauce would have done wonders. Marinating the chopped cucumbers and tomatoes in some red wine vinegar would have also brought out some different flavors so the dish didn't taste so bland and one note. I had some leftover and when I ate it at home, I added some lime juice and that alone made a big improvement.
Note: if you're ordering the pita, realize that ingredients are stacked so you can't mix them together like you would in the bowl. So you'll get a mouthful of only 1 or 2 things at a time.
Baklava was good. Light and flaky, and not heavily sweet, just the way I like it. Service was great, welcoming, prompt and friendly. The employees get a big thumbs up. I saw one of them helping to a table a mom who had her hands full with a toddler, baby and baby stroller.
Mediterranean is one of our favorite types of food and we eat it often. Maybe that's the problem. This place just doesn't live up by comparison. But I guess it is fast and convenient. - Chris M.Alameda, Vereinigte Staaten120220. Apr. 2024
My wife and I have been wanting to try this place and we got a chance to have it catered at a baby shower for a friend. I have to say it was better than I expected. It was delivered on time and there was more than enough food for everyone. There were plenty of options for all. The food included hummus which was above average, chicken breast shawarma it was ok a little dry and could have used a bit more seasoning, falafel which was yummy, tons of pita bread very soft and pillowy, the tabbouleh was the most disappointing it was dry and flavorless and I have never had made with curly parsley only flat leaf, offsetting that dish was eggplant and it was delicious I recommend getting this, the cucumber and tomato salad was just diced cucumber and tomato I would have like some red onion and olive oil and a bit of lemon juice to brighten it up, the tzatziki was ok, the pickles were briney and delicious, the couscous was good if you ate it with the cucumber salad and tzatziki or with the eggplant, and thes'hug was a pleasant surprise I'd never had it before so I don't have a reference but it had a good kick!
This is another place I would like to have given another half star toHelpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Marcos F.CA, Vereinigte Staaten0348. Apr. 2024Aktualisierter Beitrag
Just quick update on this place that I still enjoy quite frequently! It's become a staple meal when I'm craving food that is different from my daily eating habits. I've gone in numerous times after work in the afternoon, but I was having some with the customer service on some days. It wasn't as welcoming at some points, but on Tuesdays, there is a girl that normally wears a beanie that always attends me. Service is quick, menu options are easy, and food is good. I haven't had any issues with her and the service she provides is great for a quick food spot like this. Normally I get a bowl, but every now and then I enjoy a pita. Overall, still dig this place.
Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 024. Juli 2022Vorheriger BeitragWalking into Gotta Eatta Pita, I didn't know what to expect as it's been quite a long time since I first came to this place. Last I remember, the food didn't have an amazing impression on me as I liked it, but I knew it wasn't something that I would die to eat again. Today, I walked in at around 1 pm because I was in the area and I was hungry so I decided to go back and I was treated very well. I felt welcomed by the team members. I saw 3 different ladies, but I was helped by the girl was glasses. I didn't ask for her name, but she prepared my pita. The process with her was quick and easy. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. She was amazing with her customer service. The place is small, but they have tables for the customers outside which is nice. It's a small environment. The pita is well packaged as you can see in the pictures I will be uploading. The pita made the drive home and no food fell out. The pita itself was very soft and tasted very fresh, way better than before. Even when the pita was filled with food, it didn't rip. Overall great service as it was a quick and simple process.

The customer service is amazing. The girl server was really sweet and left a thank you note on my package. But the food was not good at all! The pita was hard and stale. Salad was too salty. Hummus was not fresh . Overall it wasn't up to mark. I've been to other GEP locations and food there is so much better!

Definitely not an authentic sandwich nor was I satisfied. Would not come back for their falafel sandwiches.

Love, love, loooove this place! I'm so bad when it comes to updating my reviews. But as I sit in my car inhaling these wonderful aromas of this delicious half-n-half pita bowl that I'm about to angrily scarf down once I get to the crib, I feel compelled to write this update right noooow.
This is my go-to fast casual Greek/Mediterranean food spot. Everything about this place is awesome! The fact that you can customize your bowl or pita has always been my absolute favorite part. The ingredients are always fresher than life. And that hummus be hittin', son! They have some of the best hummus in the game and ya girl is highly, HIGHLY addicted to it.
Portions sizes are always crazy huge! When you look at the bowl, it always appears to be madd small. But what people fail to see is that this bowl is hella DEEP. SO much damn food gets packed in there! I can probably count on one hand the number of times that I've been able to actually finish a bowl in one sitting. And I've coming here for literal years! The pita?! Yeah, I can scarf that whole thang down if I'm hangry enough. But that bowl will feed me twice and I absolutely love it! Plus, them leftovers sho' do be hittin' the next day too.
The SERVICE has always been wonderful here! I'd say I order my food online about half of the time, and the other half of the time I just walk in (like I did today). Call me a weirdo, but I find enjoyment out of watching the staff prepare my food. Plus, it always smells so good (now). Gone are the days when this place used to smell like a sewer when I walked in. Now, it's just the pleasant smell of yummy Greek fare. And I'm SO happy about it!
Shoutout to the super friendly and helpful staff who are always working hard and willing to go the extra mile! Wish I would have gotten the gentleman's name who helped me tonight, but he was wonderful. They're all wonderful, really. It's so rare that I have a bad experience here. Here I go: I'm smackin' another big 5 stars on this place because they so rightfully deserve it! I'm SOOOO happy that Gotta Eatta Pitta survived the pandemic and even more happy that I get to continue to eat here and enjoy their delicious food.
Alright, time to throw down on this bowl before it starts to get cold. Don't mind me; I'll just be ova here.... with my face...
In the bowl.
:)Helpful 16Thanks 1Love this 17Oh no 12. Sept. 2017Vorheriger BeitragWhen it comes to fast food style Mediterranean cuisine, Gotta Eatta Pita is just simply the best! I frequent this location the most mainly because it's convenient and is located close to where I live. Parking right in front can be sparse, but I almost always park behind the building where parking spots tend to be aplenty.
As far as the ordering process goes, you can pretty much compare it to that of a Chipotle. You can either choose to order a pita or a bowl, Falafel or shawarma main (or a combo), and then you can choose your fillings. They have plenty of options available when it comes to fillings including their delicious hummus, tabouli, eggplant, cous cous, and etc. Speciality fillings such as kalamata olives, roasted peppers, and Feta cheese are also available for an additional $.75 each.
When I first started coming here, I would only order the pita. They stuff their pitas to the max here, and I always love how they cut the top of the pita bread off for you, dip it in hummus, and let you munch on it while they prepare your order. The pita is always an excellent option when you need something fast and on the go. However, I have to say that I have since then "graduated" to only ordering their delicious bowls now!
The bowls here are truly an addictive situation! First off, I always get the the half and half bowl! Their chicken is always tender and they make the most crispiest falafel balls in life! Sometimes I'll order more falafel balls on the side because they're just so damn good! When I order the bowl, I know that I'll have enough food for two, maybe even three meals because they give you so much food! It's ridiculous! The ingredients are always fresh and that hummus?! To DIE for! Their hummus is probably the best that I've had from a fast food chain.
The service has always been great here, even when the line is steady out of the door. I love that they email me my receipt without even having to ask me for my email address. The prices here are ridiculously cheap for what you get! It's usually around $10-$11 for a bowl depending on what additional items that you put in it.
If I had to nitpick about one thing, it would just be about the smell of this place. For whatever reason, the place constantly smells like a sewer inside. I've been coming here for years, and it has always smelled the same. I've left feedback about it on their surveys, but I'm not sure what the issue is. Luckily, it has never affected the taste or the quality of the food.
Overall, this is the best choice for fast food Mediterranean in the area. So glad that I have Gotta Eatta Pita near by to satisfy my Mediterranean food cravings! - Z L.Cambridge, Vereinigte Staaten9432310. Dez. 2022
Unsanitary.
There was a long hair tangled in the first plate and then a piece of chicken sitting in the second vegetarian plate.
I didn't see the hair til I got all the way home and opened it and almost started eating it. So they made me come all the way back to get a new one instead of refunding me. Once I got there there was no apology or mention of anything. They were also inspecting all the pitas as if something could be wrong with them before picking one out and giving it to me. Then I got the vegetarian plate in the second picture with the the piece of chicken in it.
What else is in there that I can't see? How hard it is to keep food clean? Don't risk it here.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jauder H.Walnut Creek, Vereinigte Staaten27861423. Jan. 2024
Found a hair on the chicken shawarma bowl. That is disgusting. I will not be eating here again.

I've been visiting Gotta Eatta Pita for a few years and absolutely love this place. The food is fresh, the staff is pleasant, and it is the quickest place to get a healthy meal on your lunch break! A chicken pita, and occasionally a side of hummus is my go to!
Having them cater was also a great idea. All of our office enjoyed the colorful display of ingredients as they made their own pitas. It's becoming more difficult these days to find a good clean place to eat and Gotta Eatta Pita is one of those places that continuously has good, healthy, and clean food!Helpful 0Thanks 1Love this 0Oh no 0 - tom f.Lafayette, Vereinigte Staaten032123. Went here thinking it sounded delicious but my bowl of food was over $17 which for what I got seems extremely high. But was really disappointed with the service the girl could not tell me what was any of the trays she was serving from and none of it was listed on a menu and as I asked the questions girl was quite unfriendly. After I got my $17 bowl of food as if I could also have a glass of water and they give you a plastic cup that can hold 4z of water. Anyways once enjoyed going here but smells bad in the place the value is not great and poor service. Think it will be out of business soon
