DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL AND ESPECIALLY DO NOT EAT THEIR DANGEROUS FOOD!!

My girlfriend got extremely bad food poisoning from the restaurant last night at The Grange and Management did NOTHING to help or compensate us. She was lovely enough to book 2 nights at this "5-Star Hotel" for my birthday weekend since I had just flown in from the United States. On the second morning we ate their complimentary breakfast and on that very same evening, we ate dinner at their Globe restaurant at approximately 9:30PM. About an hour or two after dinner, she started to feel very ill in the stomach, constantly moaning and cramping in pain. She was able to nap for 5 minutes until she woke up violently vomiting on the hotel floor. This turned into hours and hours of dry heaving, diarrhea, her keeled over on floor and conversations with medical professionals.

The medical professional's advice was to not let my gf travel or eat for 24 hours and to allow the bacteria to run its course. Even after having room service clean up the vomit and complaining about the food, the manager said that they "refuse to take liability for what happened" and would NOT comp us a free night so my gf could rest and feel better after eating their food. They say this was because no other guests had complaints. Clearly they don't know how infections work. The useless argumentative manager specifically said to me "This is 600 versus 1." What a nice guy, right?

We were up all night and never even got to have our second morning all-inclusive breakfast. Plus she lives 2 hours away in Coventry and was in no condition to travel, esp against doctor's orders. Even after knowing all of this, this classy facility did jack to help us. They extended our checkout time but eventually called to ask if we were leaving because they "had a booking". I said "Yupp we're leaving, you gotta make that money, right?" .. The useless manager responded with "Exactly right, sir". What a nice guy, right?

It's awful that such a beautifully aesthetic building is ran by such unsympathetic people. If we could, we would give 0 Stars to this supposed 5-Star hotel.

At first glance upon arrival I was not impressed, but after spending the few days I was there with my family, my opinion changed.

      - full English breakfast was spectacular! The best breakfast I have eaten in any hotel. Prob my fave part of the stay. Lol
      - the pool and spa area were really super nice as well.
      - the location was beyond EXCELLENT!
      - the management was really receptive and kind with any issue I had which was refreshing.

Even though the rooms are a bit small for a family of four, I think we will come back to stay again. :-)

The location of Grange St. Paul's is excellent. You're in the heart of the city and I was able to walk everywhere during my day. It is close to so many museums, the Thames, theaters and, of course, its namesake St. Paul's Cathedral which looms from just up the street.

The price reflects that stellar real estate, but it isn't grossly overpriced. Just somewhat.

The interior is starting to look dated. The common areas look like they were really hip about 12 years ago, but are starting to seem like a rerun that you kind of enjoy watching for nostalgia. The rooms are decently sized and well-appointed. I didn't think to ask for a good view, so I didn't get one. My room was heavy on rich wood and was spotlessly clean. The bed was comfortable and the closets were spacious. Wi-Fi worked like a charm, which was good because I had to work up until 11 p.m. after everything closed in the neighborhood, so only bar food was available (not great).

The location makes this hotel a treat and the rest is solid.

This is a beautiful property conveniently located across from the magnificent St Paul's Cathedral. The rooms are spacious and clean. The front desk ladies were friendly and helpful. The guys, for some reason ... not so much. Nikolai from Conceirge? was friendly and made us feel like valued guests. Highly recommend!

A voyeurs dream. Lol. It's upscale accommodations. From the rooms, to the location, to the bars, to the fitness center and pool.

However, when my I phone went missing from my suitcase while I was out all day, the staff was less than helpful. 2 male managers spoke down to me, and insisted I must have lost it. I'm a well traveled woman. I keep everything in its place I had 2 friends observe me place the phone in my suitcase. The managers were highly unprofessional and rude. They said they would help, they did not. They said they would investigate, they did not. Upon check out, they even tried to charge me for long distance calls to stop my Verizon plan, which they had previously said they would comp.

I complained to the London travel agent I used to book this hotel. Funny, after she spoke to them, my phone was mailed back to me in the USA free of charge and in perfect condition. Interesting how quickly they "found" it. Also, their concierges are less than informed. One told me I could not take the tube to Wimbledon. Utter nonsense. I did. It was one change and super cheap. I shouldn't know more than the concierge regarding how to get around in London.

The Grange has always been my go to London stay over. It's always been very competitively priced for its standard and location.

But it's starting to show signs of ware. It needs a good spring clean in places - especially the once beautiful spa and pool area which is now getting very tired with mould, cracking paint, and laminated Microsoft Word notices taped all over the walls and doors. Urgh.

On the plus side: the St Paul's location is superb (ask for a cathedral view), the inclusive breakfast is very generous, the roof bar has stunning views of St Paul's, the Shard, and other London landmarks.

DO NOT EAT HERE AFTER THE RESTAURANT CLOSES! That's around 9pm btw. Then the food and service of the food is down to the room service staff. Both menu and service itself are frighteningly bad! Get out on the streets of St Paul's or cross the Themes to eat. It's that bad.

This is NOT a five star hotel. Save your coins and go somewhere else. The food and service left MUCH to be desired. The rooms were small, the shower was so tiny and the bed was hard as a rock with terrible sheets. I have no idea how they call themselves a five star hotel, I've stayed in many -- this isn't even four stars. Look elsewhere.

      One positive-location.

WHAT A JOKE. HORRIBLE. our flight to the US was canceled so we decided to come downtown for the night. Made a reservation for the Grange because I had stayed here on business theee years ago and it was quite nice. But man, what a mistake. At check in they advised we were in the second building a short walk away. I didn't know there was a second building - it is a three or so story prison looking building. They led us to our room - loosely speaking a room. NO WINDOW. SERIOUSLY NO WINDOW. TWO BY TWO SHOWER. I CANNOT BELIEVE THEY WOULD PUT A CUSTOMER IN THIS SORT OF PLACE.

250 pounds for a windowless cell. And they act like all is perfectly normal. We offered to pay more for a real room but sorry nothing available in the main building. We could have gone anywhere in London but here we are. They did switch is to another slightly better room in the annex that had a view of construction on the street, but that begs the question why didn't they put us there to start with instead of the windowless room.

This hotel suited us very well. Great location, but the area shuts down somewhat early. Every staff member we encountered was very pleasant and helpful. The full English breakfast was stellar, tons to choose from. The gym and spa were solid as well. Steam room, sauna, hot tub, pool were all perfect! Bathrooms and lockers in the pool area were clean and well kept. The gym was pretty useful as well.

Our room itself was very nice. Lots of tea and coffee for us. Bed is firm but comfy, and the bathroom was very very clean. Our room was in a separate building 45 second walk from the hotel, but was much more quite and chill. Room service is 24 hours, but some food items stop at 11pm. Again, the staff here were all very nice to us. Would definitely recommend.

For them claiming to be a five star hotel, this falls well short.

The bad: The room I got was really nothing special which I'd put just below that of a Sheraton or Hampton inn. The TV in the room is only about 27" and it's not HD which makes it really hard to see the guide when you're laying in bed. The lighting is all fluorescent which gives it a cold institutionalized feel. And the elevators take FOREVER during the morning and evening rush.

The good: excellent location. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel facilities outside the room are quite
