Came here today for lunch and was one of the only customers in the restaurant. Seeing photos of the "Japanese pizza" online made me excited to see it in person.

The staff was incredibly friendly and I love the open kitchen and long light wooden tables that line the left side of the restaurant. There is even a little raised are where a group could sit on the floor and eat off of a raised table.

I ordered: Miso Soup, Okonomiyaki with leeks and meat, and a Green Tea Mochi Ice Cream for dessert.

I have a small stomach and trying to finish the Okonomiyaki was a feat that I did not complete. I took about a third of it home with me (wonder how that'll taste tomorrow). It was good and exciting for me to try as I had never heard of Okonomiyaki before but I definitely think with the soup and maybe something else, for small stomached people it would be nice to share. It also is difficult for take-out, although take-out is offered, as the Okonomiyaki takes 10-15 minutes to make. The miso soup was perfect and they served it to me on a cute wooden tray with a wooden spoon. The green tea mochi ice had to be my favorite part and I would go back just to order a bunch of mochi ices because it was so delicious! I also got their house ginger lemon tea which was delicious but I think it is just ginger and lemon in water - tasty though!

My meal came to about 15 euro total including my soup, main course, drink and dessert. It can definitely be cheaper if only getting one or two things.

I highly recommend checking it out but it definitely is a place for a more adventurous eater. They ONLY serve Okonomiyaki as the main dish so if you are looking for ramen or sushi - try somewhere else.

I've never had Okonomiyaki before or didn't even hear about it but it's truly something nice and tasty. Not just the Okonomiyaki are nice and not to expensive, also the starters and desserts are very nice and traditionally Japanese as far as I can tell. There may not be that many seats in the place but the interior design and clean and modern.
If you're a fan of traditional Japanese food I definitely recommend the place!

I'm sorry to leave a negative review because the staff there was very nice, but the food was very mediocre from start to finish. First we had a seaweed salad which was recognisable as the bright green stuff you buy premade in bulk that's served in millions of average restaurants. We ordered 2 of the pancakes, both of which tasted like all of the ingredients came from cans. It seems like you have to be passionate about a specialty to import it and introduce it to a different culture...and that in that case it would be really good. I wish them luck but we will not be returning.

When I heard that an okonamiyaki place was opening I was ecstatic - I had been craving it for years after having tried it in London. The place is pretty small and just serves 3 different okonamiyaki styles and sides. It appears to be family run, has a nice interior and is very tidy. The food is amazing and if you have never had okonamiyaki before, you should definitely give it a try!

Eating here was a bad experience but I really want this place to get better. I hope the owner reads this. I've eaten okonomiyaki at several places in Japan before. My biggest problem was that there a no sauces on the table. I think there should be a box of bonnito flakes, tare sauce, a little container of salt, a small bottle of soy sauce. Even a box of pickled ginger would be interesting and something to talk about. Pickled ginger is more of a sushi thing but I used to love going to KappaZushi and eating their ginger. It would be pretty easy to make in house. I ordered a side of karage (fried chicken) and asked if there was any sauces and I was told that they were already seasoned. So I ate the chicken with no sauce, but the experience would have been much better if they gave me something. Tare sauce on karage is a winning combo.

My second thing was that I ordered the Korean Style Okonomiyaki. Usually, Kankoku Style means there is Kimchi somewhere in the dish. Instead of kimchi inside the okonomiyaki there was a layer of this spicy cheap Korean style sauce on top. It tasted bad. An improvement would be put kimchi inside the kankoku style and get rid of that Korean sauce/paste you put on top. Then just top it normally. Also the okonomiyaki batter recipe needs some work.

The place is super clean but it seems very bland. They need some showmanship. Some cool looking Tenugui or maybe a irrashaimase when you walk in the door.

I'll be back to eat here again.

They have no vegetarian dishes :( They all contain fish. We travelled from Neukölln especially and had to settle for a burger elsewhere.

they kill their under-average tasting main dish (Japanese pancakes) by adding some kind of different type of ketchup & mayonnaise. visually & conceptually they try to jump on the authentic japaneese type restaurant hype in this neighbourhood as started by sassaya in lychener strasse, and i STRONGLY recommend to visit sassaya instead of this joint - the food at hanage left a very bad after-taste in my mouth
