The location of this hotel is perfect. We were here for the Christmas market and the main market was literally steps away from this hotel.
The hotel was about a ten minute walk from the train station and it's pretty much a straight shot. It would be pretty hard to get lost or not find it.
The staff was really nice and gracious.
The rooms were good sized, modern and clean. The bed were a bit small. I would say twin sized, not queen. There was a shower, not a tub.
There was a bar located outside our window and it was really loud. There was music and people shouting, but maybe that is the price you pay for being in the center of everything.
The line for breakfast in the morning was insane, if you show up after eight prepare yourself not to find a table in the main dining room, we had to eat in the bar area. For breakfast there was a choice of boiled eggs, cereal, yogurt, meat, cheese and bread.
Lastly, this hotel was a bit pricey for a holiday inn express. I think it was because we booked at Christmas time, I'm not sure! It was over five hundred dollars for two nights.

I stayed here in spring 2015 for three nights and this hotel gives you everything you need for a short trip. We were two people, sleeping in a decent sized twin room with ensuite facing the back of the hotel. I recommend to have some earplugs handy as the Kreuzkirche ist not far behind the hotel and sometimes you could hear its bells. The train station is only 15min away on foot, Striezelmarkt and Prager Straße just round the corner. It's also only 10min to the Elbe river and to Dresdner Castle.

There a sightseeing bus stopping in front of the hotel and you can buy tickets at the reception as well.

The breakfast was continental with cornflakes, rolls, jam, wurst, eggs, coffee and tea but at peak time many people were in the breakfast room which is better avoided as it could get very crowded. In the lift, there was an information sheet about which times where recommended.

The service was efficient and polite and we enjoyed our stay very much.
As we had come by train, the central location of the hotel offered us great access to all sightseeings and good restaurants.

The only downside was the poor reception of the hotel wifi, for which I had obtained a code.

We stayed there last night. The hotel is only a few years old, it's in a good location and our room was spotless. We came into contact with two of the Housekeeping staff and they were very friendly. However; the check-in clerk was very unfriendly initially, which really infuriated me - but eventually she thawed and became much more pleasant. The other front desk staff were pleasant.

A buffet breakfast is included in the price, although it was very mediocre and the selection was quite limited. However, the coffee was very good.

The reason why I'm only giving three stars (instead of four) is because the internet connection was PATHETIC (as mentioned by the previous reviewer, but at least there's no longer a charge). Truthfully, the hotel should *pay* people to use the internet. In this era - and when a large hotel in a major chain is located in the center of a city - there's no excuse whatsoever for such pathetic internet service.

A nice hotel in a great location. Clean and well maintained with a nice front desk. There is a little bar which is a nice meeting place if you are with a group. The breakfast is typical German fare but without eggs, sausage or bacon.

The WiFi is disgraceful. 5 euros per day and it will drive you nuts. You must have a separate user id and password for each device. You will be constantly dropped and must log in again. Take your iPad to breakfast and guess what? Log in again. The "system" is clearly not up to the task. Painfully slow. If you require an Internet connection, don't stay here.
