Room smells of sewage. Hard for me to breath in my room and bathroom. Poor air conditioning. I am someone who is usually cold all the time and does not like AC. However in the 100 degree weather during August it would have been nice to have the AC working better. I had the AC to 20 degree C and by the next morning it finally felt cool but not even freezing.

This is such a cute hotel in Barcelona, Spain. My friend and I had such a great experience here. The wifi was great, service was awesome, rooms were clean and fully stocked and were very accommodating when my other friends had a few hiccups with their room. They were very informative and help schedule our COVID test to go back home. This hotel is in a great location with amazing luxury shopping, great restaurants and cafes. Definitely would stay here again! Amazing customer service too!

Hotel Balmoral was my home base while in Barcelona for three nights, and I can honestly say it was a pleasant stay.

The hotel itself is very central to many tourist attractions, some of those including Gaudi houses, Los Ramblas, and Placa De Catalunya. Yes, some attractions may not be as close, but hard to find a hotel in this city where all attractions are very close by. One key selling point for me was the affordable price and most importantly, the distance to the metro station (Diagonal). I am a metro type guy when traveling or tram I guess if they have one and having such easy access made it quite simple to see this wonderful city. I cannot comment on nearby restaurants as I usually was eating quite a distance away, but there were ample amount of choices nearby. I did partake in their breakfast buffet, which was quite large and offered several tasty treats, both healthy and unhealthy (Of course I ate more of the latter). One last note before I move onto the interior of the hotel and rooms was the the staff running the whole thing. I'd rate them if that is fair, a 5/10 as some were helpful but most of the time they were unable to assist and did not bother to.

Fast forward to the interior of the hotel, it is a little dated, but very clean. Some parts are very dark which can make it hard to navigate at night, but that is just a minor complaint honestly. The room itself was a fairly decent size for the price point, but one major complaint was the fact they had no AC! According to the front desk, they said it was some type of system they use all around Spain in where it gauges the temperature outside and adjusts according (Automatic room temp control). With that said, we were left opening a window that did not really do much for us and having to deal with noisy neighbors nearby playing their guitar most of the night. As mentioned above, the room was spacious, yet clean, and the bathroom was quite nice. Don't expect much from the media side as you are usually stuck with CNN and BBC, but hey who spends time watching TV on vacation, get out there and explore!

All and all a pleasant stay, but I may look elsewhere on my next journey through Barcelona, one with AC or heating during the winter months when needed.

I was not a guest here, but wanted to acknowledge the kindness of the front desk staff to a non-guest. My husband and I were staying at an apartment around the corner; after our phones were stolen we had no access to a phone, and needed to report them stolen. The staff let us place several calls, offered us water, and treated us kindly in a really stressful situation. Even more remarkably, i treaded on their kindness a second time when I realized that i needed printed tickets for the Sagrada Familia (because they were on my stolen phone). They helped me print them to ensure we we able to make our time slot. should I return to barcelona, I would definitely stay here!

Clean hotel but staff is extremely rude try to book elsewhere.

Had problems from the first day, it took us about an hour to check in because they couldn't find our reservation even though we booked direct and the itinerary printed

Great place to stay in Barcelona! Right next to Diagonal Ave which takes you anywhere. 2 blocks from subway entrance. Very clean. Hotel bar had good drinks and good room service meals. Wi-Fi was surprisingly very fast. Little tip, some of the rooms require your room key to be placed in a slot next to door. Without the key in this slot you have no power in your room. Use a bis card.

This was the hotel we spent 5 nights in. superb rooms and far enough away from the hustle and bustle but within easy walking distance of all the amenities. The avenue Diagonal is only 20 yards form the hotel and you can get anywhere from there.
The staff in the hotel were very friendly and extremely helpful.

Horrible experience. Please see bathroom photo for reference. I checked in, room key did not work. Finally got a working key after a wait. Went to use restroom... sat down (about 9 inches clearance for knees between bidet and toilet), of course a natural reaction to any lid or door is to open it. I lifted bidet lid and the on/off faucet handle (poor in clearance as well) turned the bidet full on. Nozzle was also pointed up so I got fire hydrant action straight to the face and a flooded floor. I mopped up, dried off and went to front desk hoping for a room change. The gentleman at the front desk came up, looked at situation, adjusted the direction of the bidet spray nozzle and told me in Spanish to write up a maintenance form of some sort. I don't speak Spanish making this even more frustrating to explain as even after miming the situation I experienced he shrugged. I also showed him tape on the door jam from recent painting that hadn't been pulled off. He didn't pull it himself, he said maintenance and then some more Spanish. As he was walking out I had to half ask/half beg for more towels as mine had all been used mopping the floor and we're a wet pile. Eventually a lady brought only 2 towels to the room.

This was followed by a slip on the stairs walking down. I fell flat on my face directly in front of the front desk. Quite an ugly and embarassing (and painful) landing. No one seemed the least bit concerned or interested. I spent a good 20 minutes crying in the room after that. To keep from going on and on I will merely ad that my hotel experience did not get one bit better during my stay there (in fact I was even more miserable as the stay went on.)
