Bebel Bar & Lounge

Wow. Talk about AMAZING cocktails! This place rocks! I tried several of their daiquiri's and I can't really pick out a single one that I liked more than the other because they were all THAT great. My bf and I actually tried of the daiquiri's on the menu. If I had the means, I would definitely fly there only to have their cocktails and enjoy the surroundings.

Did I mention I went here FOUR times during my two-week stay? Yeah, I hopped on the subway, walked my cute little butt several blocks, and then sat with my lover at the bar and savored each and every sip of my cocktail.

Elegant bar in the Hotel de Rome. Nice waiters. We were in the mood for coffee and dessert and they made it happen by getting some cappuccinos and apple strudel from the restaurant. Worth a visit. There's also an excellent rooftop bar that can't be beat on a nice day.

Rare is it that I give a place a full five stars, but this one was pretty close...where are you 4.75 star button when Daddy needs ya.

Great ambiance in a hotel bar that is tucked away in the back of the Bebelplatz in the Hotel de Rome. The bar area is nice and sheik inviting, but if you make an extra right turn or two as you come in you will find yourself in the velvet lounge area. Cocktails with a small bite on one of the couches in this room overlooking the Platz kept my GF glowing with romance for a few hours.

The cocktail menu is one of the best I have seen in Europe let alone Berlin. It included every cocktail by main ingredient as well as a page of "Over the Top" cocktails made with rare ingredients and prices starting at 80 Euros per drink.....Fear not though; the rest of the many paged menu is in the realm of the plausible.

If in Berlin, then make the effort to enjoy the Bebel bar.

Upscale bar, with live music (sometimes), good service and good drinks. Always snacks on the tables. Can be crowded sometimes and the crowd is usually not what you would like to have in a bar (because it is in a super upscale hotel), but if you bring the right friends, it's highly recommended if you look for a classy bar in downtown Berlin, which isn't all that easy

I have mixed feelings about this place. Location is top and drinks are delicious. Music was uninspiring really but the staff was very friendly on the other side. So, it somehow is yes and no for me. They could do so much better, given the fact they are in a prime spot. Why not employ a DJ and put on great music? Why not hire a Piano player? Whatever it is they really have to do something to make it a more interesting place one longs to go to. Right now it feels like people go there so they can say they have been to the rooftop bar at hotel de Rome, can't see the point

I can't believe I made a special trip to this place!

I was looking for a classy and more upscale bar/lounge area for a Saturday night during my stay in Berlin. This was way too up tight for my taste.

They had extensive drink menu and I selected a very good white wine. What was nice is that they gave me a complimentary welcome mini shot and a small tray filled with some potato chips, olives and nuts. The bartender took my coat from me, which was another nice touch.

As I figured out that this place sucked for me and left, the card I gave them didn't work on their system. When I walked back while waiting for the cab, my bartender was running around panicked, because my card was denied (which was really strange because it worked in other places). I handed him another one, but this whole thing just left a bad impression on me.

This place may be just wonderful for you, especially if you think you are high on a social ladder, but for me it was just too stuffy, with older or boring crowd on that particular night.

WINE DRINKERS BEWARE. The pour is about half of what you would get anywhere else. Stale atmosphere despite what the pictures on the wall would have you believe. Hope to never be stuck here again.
