Hotel Royal

The best hotel we stayed in during our visit to Catania.
Beautifully decorated to a very high standard, spotlit halls and amazing terrace this place is pure quality and they made us feel like Royalty during our entire stay - nothing was too much trouble.
I especially enjoyed having a glass of wine at the end of the day on the moonlit terrace (where breakfast is also served in the mornings) and looking out at the gorgeous views.
Breakfast was the feast of kings! A cacophony of pastries, delectable family recipe concoctions, fresh fruits and variety of breads, meats and cheeses meant we were spoilt for choice and absolutely stuffed by the end of it!
I'll definitely return to this hotel if I'm ever in Sicily again

I wish I could give this hotel a better rating but I can't. We were there from May 22-25 and reserved a suite. For a 4-star hotel there were things lacking. In the bathroom there were very few toiletries provided such as creams, conditioners, shaving cream, etc. More importantly one of our shower heads did not work and the toilet broke 4-5 times while we were there. Each time they came to fix it the toilet would break again after the first flush. The last day we were there the toilet was broken for the entire day, requiring us to use the restroom in the hallway.

I will say the staff was very understanding and accommodating but when they tried to contact the management because we were so upset no manager would answer the phone. Because we had to leave for the airport we had no choice but to pay the full amount for the room. While we loved Catania and Sicily this certainly put a damper on our stay.

Beautiful hotel with very special decorations and atmosphere. A real pearl, hiding in the busy streets, though peaceful and quiet once you get in. With over 30 degrees out, the room welcomed us with chilly air and stone floors, giving us the desired retreat after a long drive. To eat breakfast on a sunny terrace gave us a good start for the day. We got very good restaurant recommendations in the reception. The only disappointment was that jacuzzi did not work. I am definitely coming back!
