I was a little delicate from drinking the night before. What does that mean? Indian for dinner! I placed my order on Thursday, July 7th through Delivery.com. Ordered at 6:20pm and it arrived at 7:06pm. I live in Outer Richmond.
3. Samosa Vegetable: Vegetarian - Crispy puffs filled with potatoes and green peas ($3.50)
12. Garlic Naan: Garlic leavened bread ($2.25)
13. Keema Naan: Leavened bread stuffed with spiced ground lamb ($3.25)
66. Chicken Tikka Masala: Chicken tandoori with herbs and tomato sauce ($11.95)
The samosas were huge! Crispy on the outside and soft inside. The filling had a nice curry flavor. Great with the mint chutney. The garlic naan had good garlic flavor. Soft with a nice chew. I'd never had keema naan, so I thought I'd give it a try. I was picturing ground lamb like in the meat samosas I've had. It was instead ground lamb flattened into something like a lunch meat. I didn't really care for the texture. But dipped in the tikka masala, it didn't bother me much. The tikka masala had a nice spice since I asked for it extra spicy, but it was a little greasier than I prefer. Maybe due to me asking for the extra spice? I like my tikka masala more on the creamier side. The consistency was more like a puree than a creamy curry.
Great samosas and garlic naan, but everything else fell a little flat.Helpful 14Thanks 0Love this 12Oh no 0 - 2. Jan. 2017
I came here with a couple of friends for the buffet dinner and it was alright. $12.95 for a buffet isn't a bad deal but there wasn't much of a selection. The Naan were the first to go and we had to wait 20 minutes or so for the next batch to come out. There were a few different curry options but not much. The chicken cut up into pieces were pretty dry but the Chicken Tikka Masala was good. If you're looking to eat a solid 3 plates of Chicken Tikka Masala for $13 dollars, I would say this is your best bet but other than that, there isn't anything else that is special about India Palace.

I'm surprised they got only 3 stars. The food was actually good. Tasty. I ordered Chana masala, Fish coconut curry and Chana saag. Nothing to complain about the taste at all. I asked for extra spicy and yes they're spicy. Love it. I came back to try their food for the second time before writing this review. The second time ordering their food same tasty food. Not disappoint. I haven't tried their buffet tho. They seem to have a pretty good options. One star down because I don't like their garlic Naan. Not fresh. Maybe it is or maybe it sats on the buffet table before serving it to me, I don't know. Just don't like it. Service a bit slow but not that bad.
1 star for main dishes taste.
1 for menu. Good options, chicken, lamb, vegetarians, seafood. reasonable price.
1 for Getting extra spicy as I asked for

I came here on a weeknight and had their dinner buffet. It was around 7:30pm at the latest and the restaurant was empty except for me and one other person.
PROS:
- lots of vegetarian options
CONS:
- No real service to speak of
- Food was on the lukewarm/almost cold side
- Some of the item trays were empty and weren't refilled throughout the entire time I was there
- Bathroom was extremely dingy and disgusting
At only $11, the buffet wasn't expensive, but it was definitely not a good deal for the quality and freshness of food. I don't think I would return.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ariana P.Los Angeles, Vereinigte Staaten250216. Jan. 2014
This is the most disgusting Indian food around. I'm Indian and I eat a lot of it. They clearly use food coloring in everything. The mango Lassi does not have mango in it; all it has is orange food coloring. So do their curries. I would stay away from this place at all costs.
They also screwed up my order. when I called back and asked them to fix it he told me that it would take a long time because he had to wait for his driver to come back. I reminded him that I live a block away so it made no sense to drive. He still insisted that the driver would have to come and it would take a long time. Of course, all of these lies so he wouldn't have to remake my order, which he never did.Helpful 6Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 16. Jan. 2011
Lunch or dinner to fit any budget.
Yes, we have agreed to follow a budget, this time by preference, not by necessity. So when we were cruising the street this morning, the "Buffet Lunch $9.99" sign grabbed our attention.
It's not just buffet lunch, the buffet dinner is also $9.99. Pre-tax, of course, and you are not limited to the buffet. They have a full menu and delivery. Ultimately, all of this meant we were to enjoy 2 buffet lunches and a mango lassi for $24.60 + tip.
To me a Bombay buffet is the same wherever I go, but this food, which we selected during the lunch hour on Sunday, was fresh, nicely seasoned, and perfectly cooked. Both of us were satisfied.
We will be back.Helpful 5Thanks 0Love this 6Oh no 0 - YearOf M.San Francisco, Vereinigte Staaten288728. Juli 2016
I would have given India Palace 5star but for the SFDPH score 65 and the memorable review below with cockroach pic. If you look at FDA regulations, small amounts of insects parts are 'acceptable' in foods, however that roach looked like an add-on after cooking.
I love the Saag/spinach dishes, the color indicates it is made fresh and frequently. I also appreciate the unsweetened Chai since I routinely never add sweetener when I make it. I love the Indian pickles and breads. Numerous meat dishes, I think it's Halal. Chicken pretty routinely tough. Flavorful soup to start and rice puddling to end.
Has TV but with Bollywood dance vids, manager wouldn't tune into sports during SF playoffs.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - 421801137421. Feb. 2008
I recently came back from a trip to India. Perhaps my standards of cleanliness have changed because of this. India Palace is by no means a dirty restaurant, but I am sure they have vermin of some sort. Most restaurants do.
The buffet here is excellent. It is not my most favorite Indian food but it is quite descent and cheap. The veggie navratan korma is better then what I ate in India even. Maybe it is an americanized version of navratan korma or something but I am a fan! The chutneys are fresh and consistant, the raita is the right amount of salty- just as I like it.
I ate a samosa, garlic nan, 3 cups of chai and heaping platefuls of wonderful indian food for $11(with tip). Considering that Burger King cost me $6 the other day, I am not complaining.Helpful 3Thanks 0Love this 4Oh no 0 - Megan M.Brentwood, Vereinigte Staaten41146829613. Dez. 2016
I have been to their lunch buffet two times. Price is right, and service is not bad, but the buffet is pretty limited. It did satisfy my Indian fix for a little while, but I have been to better Indian buffets before.
