Super FUN place on the mountain in Val d'Isere. Great party vibe and the food we had was sooooooo good. Only downside was the wait and our server had a very obvious cold.....she was sniffling, red nose, the whole bit. We did our best to ignore it and overall had a great meal. But management.....how about you don't let sock people serve food! Especially considering the $400 lunch bill. Merci!

Self service food not very good
The party kicking in every afternoon with DJ's dancers and musicians in La Folie douce is really cool and so is as well the design of the place, however the staff is less than friendly, the food and the drinks is mega expensive. The quality of the dishes is mediocre. I can not recommend going here for food. The party is great though.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Charly C.Boulogne-Billancourt, Frankreich10176514. Well you think that you are cool because you are at La folie douce that everyone is talking about. You bet you are. As a matter of fact you are so cool that you may take your shirt off with temperature of zero and your friend will dance the leaf. If you are sub-zero cool then you will get on that table order some bubbles and spray it on everyone. Keep in mind that no one cares, everyone is wearing ski outfit. Don't try to be offended because they are wet from whatever liquid, its the purpose of ski clothes plus, we all know that no matter what those clothes will not get wash until next year, a week prior to departure.
Anyway, good fun there, unreal people watching, just seems a little fake from time to times. But honestly you have to be seriously bitter at life for not stoping at least for a drink there.
Coming from tignes it is situated right after "les marmottes" on the way to val d'isere.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Sylvia L.Brooklyn, Vereinigte Staaten17953083111. Mai 2017
This review is purely for drinks and apres ski. Dunno about the food. This is THE PLACE to be for apres. If you haven't done the Alps, this is the reason why apres ski is so amazing in the Alps! There's a dj spinning and people are coming down the slopes and ready to pop some bottles! And start dancing on tables! The atmosphere is fun lively and always a good time!

I spent Christmas Day 2007 at La Folie Douce and what a place to spend it. I worked there during the season so only managed to make it up to this bar on my day off for Apres ski but you are welcomed with pumping tunes or bands from the roof of the bar and the huge outdoor seating area is perfect for Apres dancing in the sun.
Expensive as you would expect from a mountain bar but a good place to have a dance after a long day on the slope. Will be back there again in two weeks. and can't wait!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (streng…)London, Vereinigtes Königreich202591213. März 2011
This bar is amazing. You can hear the music from a few hundred metres away on the slopes, real bass heavy euro techno. Once we got there everyone was dancing on the tables, there's a seriously cool looking MC with a big white beard rapping on the roof, a woman singer standing on the bar, and a live trumpeter who looks like a French eminem playing trumpet versions of Daft Punk over the top of the music. There was also a guy in a shark costume but I later realised he was just there on holiday as I met him in a different bar later on that evening.
