La Parrilla Suiza

we were going to the la parrilla for 20 plus years on peoria avenue...at least twice a week...the food is amazing, our resturant closed last year, so did the one near paradise valley mall...we have driven all the way to mesa npw...long drive from 73 ave. and dear valley rd.
we have never got a bad meal...we know the wait staff buy name, we come through the door and our ice tea is on the table...
btw. they have the freshed ice tea i have ever had...if you want real mexico city food this is the best place. their tacos are sooo good, the chicken melt, love the charro beans, their cheese and flour tortilla, the shrimp and veggies come in a long metal dish.

This place is literally right down the street from me. Friends from East coast wanted Mexican food. We gave 2 options that were close. They chose La Parrilla Suiza.

It wasn't busy and our server seemed rushed. It appeared that she was helping someone new & had a huge table.

My plate was good- chilaquiles were on point, but my tacos not so much. Others plates were good. They didn't react so not really sure what they thought.

Margaritas were good- we shared a pitcher.

To go order. At ~4pm. Early Bird 3pm-6pm menu item chicken Taco salad. 12.99 lists like 6 different items. NOT that the online menu is pricing has not been changed in years. Pre COVID19 probably. It is their hook to get you in the door. This salad came w/o dressing or utensils or a note saying, "got you sucker!" 17.49 for this pile of something NOT as described in the menu. The greasy taco shell was soggy at the bottom. As wet vegetables had soaked it. The bar did not have Captain Morgans or Barcardi Rum. 2023 go figure.
Sorry, la parrilla suiza, no more of my money for you! The older blonde lady server laughed when I asked why the $5 price difference was. Didn't care. Thought it was funny for the restaurant owners not to have changed their online menu. Food was pphhhffftttt flat a total waste of $20 with tax & tip. Grrrrr.....this is a NW Side failure in a dining option.

Come here many times and it never has disappointed us. When we first came several years ago it was a great place 5stars, but has lost some of its service to customers. The food is still good though.

I recently got hired here and I ended up sick with the flu. I got sent home 2 days because for some weird reason they want you to still work sick. I called out the 3rd day on a Sunday and they told me to let them know when I was better. I did just that but owner Gilberto and his wife Yvette have since then ignored me I've tried multiple times to ask about a schedule and when I can go back but no response. So basically I got fired for being sick mind you I have 4 kids and quit my other job to work with them. So now I'm jobless thanks parrilla suiza. Do not work there because they basically frown upon you not working while sick or just having a life outside or work.

My friends and I were in Tucson for the day and heard about this restaurant. We decided to try it and we were very pleased. The portions are very big and the food is delicious. We especially enjoyed the different types of salsas you get with the chips before the meal. I would recommend this place to anyone nearby.

Worst place to order to go from. For starters-they don't answer the phones. Make sure you double check your order-I asked for refried beans and was given charro beans. No salsa and no chips are included in your order to go and your tacos just don't hit the same way without a little salsa.

Food took forever and they charge for chips and salsa and the chips are not freshly made but store bought and stale. They didnt provide napkins with the to-go order.

I've been going to The La Parilla on Ina for for ever. I've never had a bad meal. Martin, Angie, Todd are amazing. Miguel & Maria in the kitchen making my meal so I always tip them. After all they're making my meal. Because I've been coming for 20 yrs as soon as I walk in no menu needed. Miguel is already preparing my meal. The best servers by far!! There is Mariachi/Spanish music playing plus 5 TV monitors if you want to watch a game or Fail Army which is fun watching people doing stupid stuff

This was our last meal in Tucson during thanksgiving break and our first Mexican meal! It was so delicious and the service was phenomenal! Their bees tacos had delicious steak sautéed with peppers, onion and bacon- yum! And their salsas were so good! I will be coming back next time.
