Beautiful lunch in a beautiful restaurant. Was there 20 years ago when they only had 2 stars - now they have 3 and it's no longer possible to sit in the garden, but indoors, looking out through the large windows. Service is perfection, food is elegant, classic, and exactly what you would expect. Had a deconstructed crab that just knocked our socks off. Wine list is commensurate with quality and service. We went on the "cheaper side" for lunch, and had a super nice Macon from Denis Jeandeau. Highly recommended!

Back in Paris and back to Le Pré Catelan, which remains just as perfect. It's the restaurant that most makes me plan a trip back

This was our first Michelin 3 star experience and it did not disappoint. I booked through my tour company and requested it for a birthday. Upon arrival we were greeted most warmly and checked in at the front desk. We were seated in the most elegant room with a lovely view of the gardens. This place is my idea of ultimate French elegance. The decor is tasteful with white roses and green velvet chairs. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. We did the full tasting course and if you're afraid of being unable to finish there is the option of cutting off a few of the courses. I have a small appetite and was able to finish the full so I'd recommend doing so. As our waiter explained, each dish is already quite small. The pictures hardly do justice but each dish was just amazing. The concept and presentation of each dish blew me away. I love that the chef used each ingredient in a novel and delicious way, nothing overly pretentious and the flavor combinations of each dish made it so my husband who does not normally enjoy seafood, was able to appreciate several cod and salmon dishes. We were helped with picking out a delicious Chardonnay for our meal but you do get champagne or other wine upon arrival. Dinner is about 3 hours and I never felt rushed. Overall this restaurant surpassed my expectations and I would highly recommend this experience, truly worth coming to France for!

The kind of 5 star service, quality/creative dishes, ambiance you'd expect and want from a 3 michelin star restaurant.

Each dish was creative, thoughtful in every way and just delicious. My fiancé and I went there for lunch and the ambiance was just perfect even during the daytime.

I loved how every course flowed so well and the cheese cart to the Madeline cart was the perfect ending to our meal!

If you get a chance to visit Paris you must visit here and get away a little bit from the city!

If you ever wanted to explore the coveted three star Michelin restaurant, start here. Le Pre has a 10-14 course meal that is not outrageously priced for a restaurant of it's quality, and the food is most certainly unique. From veal sweetbread to awesome "gelatinized" foods, every course surprises and brings a smile to your face. The crew running dinner service is always there to make sure the experience is perfect. Would highly recommend!

Curry crab with caviar, one of the tastiest courses!

Literally, the biggest disappointment with a Michelin stared restaurant, I ever experienced. While the space is indeed beautiful, the service is a caricature of French service, it is arrogant, snide, and mocking. The food is either too salty, so salty that it is impossible to eat, or too bland. The dishes are unimaginative and some, like the cheese souffle or monkfish are simply inedible. The sommelier is condescending and overbearing.

Five star service and delicious food. It's a incredible and luxurious experience for us to try French cuisine.

The location is amazing. Kinda of a commute to get there from the heart of the city, but worth it.

Food was great. What you would expect from a place like this. Had a great waiter who was the perfect combination of snarky and helpful.

Cheese selection was one of the best I've had.

My only complaint(and the reason i gave 4 stars instead of 5) is they let someone come in and dine wearing a t-shirt and jeans. This isnt the place for that. Sure, it's probably snobby of me to judge but when I go out to a Michelin restaurant I want folks to dress the part. They should enforce their dress code.

My husband and I had the true privilege to be able to dine at Le Pré Catalan for lunch in June 2017. I would say that Le Pré Catalan is my all-time favorite restaurant, and I've been to quite a few.

It is honestly hard to describe how incredible that dining experience was. I've waited months to write a review because I didn't feel that my words would ever do that experience justice. They still most definitely won't. Therefore, you must go and see for yourself. That's the best advice I can give. Stop reading this review right now and go book a flight to Paris with a reservation at Le Pré Catalan. I don't care whether or not you have someone to dine with. JUST GO!

Le Pré Catalan is situated in the middle of the Bois de Boulogne, which is a suburb to the southwest of Paris. You won't be able to access the restaurant via a metro with a little walk. You will need to take a car or taxi because it is in the middle of park. Additionally, to get there, you have to take the street that crosses through the park and is lined with prostitutes. Believe me, that is not a path that you want to walk on. Put on some nice clothes and spend a few extra bucks to take a car there. And plan to stay awhile. Don't try to squeeze in some activities right after. You'll want to savor this experience.

When you arrive, you will see what looks like a château in the middle of the park. I think the restaurant is the only occupant of this little château. The entrance to Le Pré Catalan is to the right from where you would be dropped off.

When you are brought to your table, turn your head in all directions and even gander at the ceiling. The decor is what you might expect from a converted château. It is very traditional French decor. It almost feels aristocratic in there. There are many large vases, heavy drapes, traditional patterns and mirrored walls and ceilings with chandeliers. But it also has a modern feel. The ambiance tells a story of the traditional French cuisine with modern flair.

Now, it is time to dine! As in any traditional French restaurant, you will begin with some fresh bread. When we dined, we had three choices of breads: a baguette au cereal, a baguette de tradition, and I believe an Italian parmesan bread. We were served both salted and unsalted butter to pair with this bread, of which we had an unlimited supply.

For the entrees, you will have choice of a la carte or the tasting menu. Since we were there for lunch, I had the business lunch which had 4 courses, and my husband opted for the full tasting menu (I think 10 courses). This was a great choice for two people because I think the smaller business lunch menu featured the best dishes in larger portions than the tasting menu. So whatever we liked the most, we had extra to taste. Highly recommended!

Now, I will not go into detail about every dish because it is hard to recall all of them, and I am sure the menu changes frequently. But some highlights were: the best tasting caviar I have every had in my life; gold flakes atop a savory foam; an expertly cooked sea bass atop a buttery sauce that left you hungry for more; mashed potatoes so creamy and delicious they'd blow your socks off; a full cheese board with options to taste close to 20 different French cheeses; a fun, modern parfait featuring fresh cream and marinated berries topped with meringue; and a splendid wine list to pair beautifully with the best food you will ever have in your life.

This is not one of those restaurants which serves interesting food with advanced techniques at the expense of taste. No, at Le Pré Catalan, you get it all. You will be so happy with your life choices with each bite. You will leave this restaurant with a full and happy belly and empty wallet and not regret one bit of it. I would make a trip across the Atlantic again just to dine here, it is that good. I am no real food critic but I would say that this restaurant absolutely deserves the esteemed 3-Michelin star rating.

Think about it: there is no way you will be on your death bed regretting the good food you spent some money on. Just no way! You. Must. Go.
