nice little place, the exterior doesn't look too inviting but once you get inside you immediately see you've come to the right place.


the stage is a bit funny shaped (with a big supporting pole right in the middle of it splitting the band into two parts), but the sound is good, the staff is nice, there's a football table and a lot of spaces you can sit down before the gig starts.


overall I had a really good experience there when I went to see Bombay Bicycle Club and from now on I think I might also just go back there for drinks from time to time, regardless of the live band.


the place being right outside the university is also a big plus during exam periods, you can sit in the library all day and go see some good gig at night. ;)

Reason to go there...this club is live music club in Hamburg already like forever.Impressive list of the bands, that have played there and you can always be ready for more.
I would say this place is quite tiny for the shows that take place there.I got to the front row only due to the fact that Im a nice, little girl,so everybody was so polite and let me pass by^^ However, it was pretty difficult to get back to the bar for another drink then. Prices -medium Hamburg, also not expensive.

Shit! it was awesome, the roof is really low so the entertainment is fucking mental. everything is in a perfect place... sept its kinda hard to get to the toilets in a fucking mental place

A good little music venue. Always near the stage and the bar, which is good.

I cannot really explain why this place has got 5 stars, the only explanation I have is that people in Hamburg are too used to bad venues...it's true that there are lots of gigs here but I hope that your favourite band will never play here cause it's not gonna be a good gig. Apart from the fact that you cannot see the stage cause it is just too low and there are 5 or 6 columns - one in the middle of the stage, the sound is unbelievably crap which is definitely the aspect that made me totally dislike this place...oh, and it is the only place I've ever been to where the ceiling sweats, literally. If you can avoid it, do it. If you want to see a band here be mentally prepared to listen to some crappy sounds.
