Came here last Saturday because me and my friends were craving munchies and I must say, this place did NOT disappoint. THIS is the place for you if you are a huge fan of cheese which I am! This place was decent sized but more on the small side. There menu was a smaller selection but perfect if you are craving wine/beer and some meats and cheeses. When seated we ordered:

      * mac n cheese - this was so so so yummy- the cheesy goodness just melted into our mouth and went perfectly with the bread crumbs which gave each bite a little crunch. What I really loved about this dish is that you can tell this was made with real cheese- I would HIGHLY recommend ordering this dish!

      * cheese plate- I can't remember which plate we ordered but every cheese we tried here was amazing, this also came with bread and pickles and all went well together!

      * panna cotta - this was surprisingly really yummy and creamy- for a cheese place I would also highly recommend this!

Overall, I had an amazing experience here and would recommend others to try as well

A very casual counter service wine and cheese bar. Pretty intimate inside, but a good amount of outdoor seating. Hits the right spot for when you want to drink (without bar craziness) and nibble a bit.

"Grilled" Cheese: Whether it's paneer or queso fresco or halloumi, I'm a big of cheese that doesn't melt. Something about eating a cube of cheese with grill marks that makes you feel like you're cheating the universe and getting away with it. The only flavoring was some oregano on top, which surprisingly added a nice fragrant tone.

Burrata Plate: The texture is somewhere between stringy fresh mozzarella and creamy goat cheese. But the taste is all fresh mozzarella-like goodness. All the greens on the side seemed excessive, because we're obviously here for the cheese. The spicy tomato jam was a great umami and slightly sweet pairing.

Farmer's Plate: Got the California cheese flight with salami and nduja. If this was my first time having nduja, I'd rave about it, but I knew what I was getting into when I ordered this delicious spreadable salami. Everything else was tasty too. But it just seemed kinda small portions for $25. The "Grilled" Cheese at $7 felt like more protein than all 3 cheeses and 2 meats combined.

Had such a wonderful first experience!!! I've lived in the neighborhood my whole life and have been wanting to come here. Me and my boyfriend finally decided to try it out for our date night!

We ordered the California Cheese flight which came with:

      Loma Alta (Brie, Favorite)
      Paso Vino (second favorite, Gouda)
      Big rock blue (blue cheese)

Some bread, dry fruit, and cornichon!
      All very unique and yummy!

We also ordered the Mac and cheese and that is a MUST every time you come! It's beyond delicious, I don't know how to describe it, so just try it yourself!

It's a small venue with very mellow vibes with good music! Definitely want to come here more often!

I'm re-reviewing this spot because I'm a subscriber to the Monger's Subscription, which is a biweekly cheese and wine subscription. I've loved the customer service that I have received and the cheeses we've been able to try, which span from California to Virginia, have all been so delicious! These people are experts in their craft, and if you love cheese, you should definitely check out their subscriptions!

The Wine and Cheese events are educational and fun--the grilled cheese is exemplary--and the staff is friendly and knowledgable. That all said, I'm not sure why it took me so long to write a review of this wonderful place. Pro tip: For two people, split the grilled cheese with prosciutto and the Epic Charcuterie and Cheese Board--you won't be disappointed.

Definitely not for the cheese faint of heart...and definitely a must try for any cheese-lover.

My friend and I came and dabbled in a little bit of everything! We ordered a cheese platter to start - 2 cheeses and 1 meat. We opted for the housemade rillettes as our meat choice and was presented with one hard cheese and one soft cheese for our plate. The harder variety had its origins in Wisconsin while the softer cheese was from the East Coast, made on the Von Trapp Farmstead (yes, THAT Von Trapp). Both cheeses definitely had a bit of funk to it, but both did impart the flavor notes that the waitress described to us. I do wish that the bread was toasted just a bit though. Definitely could have used a bit of a crunch with that general softness of everything on the dish.

For entrees, we split the Pig & Cheese Grilled Cheese and the Mac n' Cheese. Both were utterly delectable! I particularly loved the Mac n' Cheese - it was creamy and had a nice strong, nutty, cheese flavor. The crunchy bits on top also give it a nice texture. It was served piping hot, but I really didn't care and definitely dug right in. No regrets. The grilled cheese was pressed nicely and was sufficiently gooey upon delivery. The prosciutto definitely helped cut the straight cheesiness, but overall, I felt the sandwich was pretty oily. That said, adding the fruit jam between bites was seriously delicious!

All in all, I loved my experience here. Listening (eavesdropping) on various waiters/waitresses description of the cheeses definitely made me want to return and try their other cheeses. They really do a great job of painting a great flavor profile for you without being pretentious.

Very cute little spot on Valencia street! As a fan of all things wine and cheese, when I first passed by this place, it was just calling my name. Great spot for a romantic date night, bite & drink with friends, or even to just relax alone and treat yourself!

Space is limited and it's first come, first serve seating. Staff are SUPER friendly and chill, and always willing to discuss their wines & cheeses and provide suggestions based on your taste!

      Food reviews:

Gouda chocolate chip cookies - 10/10! A MUST get every time you're here, and definitely my favorite thing on the menu. If you love cheese & chocolate, this is a wonderful harmonious blend of the two that hits the spot every time! It's the perfect crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, texture, and the little chewy bits of gouda dotted throughout are heavenly. Comes with 2 cookies & a glass of milk for dipping, so it's perfect for sharing!

Mac & cheese - 9/10. Another must get. As many reviewers have noted, it's absolutely delicious. Their blend of cheeses in this is just heavenly.

Burrata plate - 8.5/10. Delicious, creamy, burrata goodness! A little less unique than some of their other options that you might not find elsewhere, but you can't go wrong with this.

California gold sandwich - 8/10. This (or their other sandwiches) is a good option if you're on the hungrier side. Would add prosciutto.

Cheese flights - you can select from their pre-made menu or mix & match cheeses based on your taste. A solid choice to try out a variety of cheeses, and the three cheese version is usually enough for two people. Tip - they'll give you extra bread if you run out!

Price can add up if you order a few different wines + small plates (which is likely, because portions are on the smaller side).

Overall, always a lovely time, and the quality of food & drink and cozy ambiance keep me coming back!

Lovely spot to spend a half hour unwinding in, or longer for dinner! I stopped here with a friend for some wine and cheese before a night out and it was just the pick me up we needed. They seem to cater to all - while there I saw couples on dates, friends hanging out, and families with babies eating a meal. Outdoor seating is quite nice too!

My girls and I planned a little get together at Mission Cheese during SF Beer Week. They have a nice selection of draft beers and glasses of wine by the glass and best of all, they have CHEESE!

We went with a couple beer samplers to start and later switched over to wine. With our tasty beverages we ordered a 1 cheese plate, a 3 cheese plate, the burrata served with greens and sourdough, a grilled cheese sandwich and a green salad topped with citrus.

The food was delicious and the selection of drafts and wine is great. Service was so-so, but they seemed short handed that day. I would most definitely come back for another get together.
