This is the second Motel One I have stayed in. The first was in Dresden. Again, I was very pleased with the location, service, decor and quality of the rooms. The prices are excellent. I am glad that they are expanding and have many hotels now in various European cities. This chain will probably be my first choice when booking hotels in Europe.
This location is very conveniently located next to the Berlin Zoo train station. It's about a 2 minute walk to the station, and there is an express bus that goes directly from the Berlin Zoo train station to Tegel Airport. It's right close to the Kufürstendamm, the major shopping street in the former West Berlin.
The room was comfortable and extremely quiet. I got a nice room on the seventh floor. The decor is modern and the bathroom fixtures are very nice.
The lobby has a bar that serves drinks and small snacks late at night. It was nice to come in about 11:00 pm and relax with a beer in the pleasant hotel lobby before retiring for the night.
The breakfast buffet is very good with hot and fresh rolls, pastries, cheese, cold cuts, boiled eggs, and bread. I especially liked the loaves of bread that you could slice. Nothing beats German bread.
This is a good choice if you're on a budget but want to go slightly upscale.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (kingof…)Dublin, Irland131331221. Apr. 2010
Well, it's one of the Motel One's, part of a Germany-wide chain of "budget design hotels". So there's no room service, no laundry service, no restaurant and no pool. But nice interior, free wi-fi throughout the whole hotel and a decent breakfast buffet.
This one in Charlottenburg has one advantage: location; as it's near the Bahnhof Zoo train station and the new "Kranzler-Centre" on Kurfuerstendamm. But be aware, as the aforementioned Bahnhof Zoo and the nearby erotic museum mark this area as one of the (also historical) more seedy areas of Berlin. So please be prepared to encounter some really special characters when returning from partying in Kreuzberg in the wee hours of Sunday.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Jennifer H.Berlin163323606. The Motel One is great. It's is very central literally about 3 minute walk from the station and at a great location to explore the city. The rooms are not big, but a have decent size and very modern - with everything you need. The bathrooms are also very nice. It's very close to Ku'damm and a great location for exploring Berlin's West, but with the train it's very easy to get anywhere and as the Zoologischer Garten station is really close it's easy to get anywhere. I also recommend the welcome package as that way you get breakfast and internet in your room for i think €6,50/7 euros a great deal, otherwise the internet is free in the lobby. The breakfast i great and has everything you need bread, cereal, fruits, yogurt, coffee, tea etc. I think the motel one is a great budget hotel for business people as well as tourists.

Really good value for money. Since Berlin generally is very loud they have air condition and the windows are really good. I once had a room overlooking the railway and you could watch the trains without hearing them. Scary.

Das Zimmer ist geradezu skuril ruhig. Ich hab direkt die S-Bahn vor der Nase aber man hört sie nicht (doppelte Fenster/Klimaanlage).
