Pretty good food, ambience, and service. I popped in with a friend and we shared the fish cutlets - they were good and had the right amount of spice. I ordered the kotthu roti and had it spicy. The food was definitely really good - not as good as the street kotthu found in Sri Lanka, but still pretty good. My colleague had kangaroo curry (it was a peanut based curry) and liked it but didn't love it. Will return when I'm back in Nuremberg.
The service was good by German standards.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alison Y.South End, Boston, Vereinigte Staaten12825. Nov. 2013
The food at this restaurant is absolutely delicious. A colleague and i go to Nurnberg every February for work and make it a point to eat here and it never disappoints. The chicken curry dish and eggplant dishes are out of this world. We stick the the Sri Lankan menu and it is so so good. Plus the owner of the restaurant is so nice and friendly. I can't wait to go in the new year.

You really have to pick the right dishes at this place.
The 2 Thai dishes we had were not that great. Veg spring rolls were the small tiny ones that are bought frozen and ready made. They were so small there was hardly any filling. Also they were a bit stodgy inside like they had been cooked from frozen. The sweet chili sauce it came with was really nice and spicy. Spicier than the normal sweet chili sauces. The chicken pad Thai was weird and very stodgy. There was no peanuts or fish sauce. The noodles had been stirred in last minute so they had nt been fried. It was more pasta consistency than fried noodles.
The drinks were disappointing. I had the passion fruit lassi. It tasted of watered down yoghurt with orange juice. The tea came in a nice little tea pot. But it was tiny.
The highlight was the Ayverdic Vata menu which consists of 3 dishes and red rice. There was a lemon grass yucca dish with coconut milk. It was amazing. The 2nd dish was an aubergine curry w coconut milk. Perfectly cooked aubergines! Soft but not slimey or too squidgey. The 3rd one was stir fried cress w sesame seeds, chilis.
When you order you can choose the level of spiciness. We picked 5 which was great. Spicy but not too powerful or numbing. The Thai dishes were 2 stars. The Vata curries were 5 stars. I just could nt stop eating.
Prices were quite high. Pad Thai w chicken was 15 euros. Veggie mains around 15euros too.
If we go back we ll stick to the Ceylon dishes. If you fancy Thai, go somewhere else!Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Ranleigh H.Austin, Vereinigte Staaten4028822. März 2015
We had a delightful meal. The atmosphere is calming and pleasant as if you were in Sri Lanka, India, Thailand or Bali. The menu is organized by country of origin and included a full bar, many different teas, various lassi, beer and wine. We started with spinach soup and samosa from the India/Celyon selection. The soup was very rich using a coconut milk base with fresh spinach and spices. The samosa came with a nice chili sambal sauce for dipping. We continued with two different vegetarian entrees from the india/Celyon section of the menu each came with three different dishes plus steamed brown rice. During ordering we were asked how spicy we like our dishes which was very nice option. We ordered the dishes very spicy but the level of heat found in the dishes was on the low side but not disappointingly so. The food was kept warm beside our table on a heating plate. The woman who waited on us was very pleasant and helpful. We very much enjoyed our meal at Mount Lavinia and would return in the future.
