This is a review of the bar rather than the hotel itself (although the hotel looks sumptious!) The bar is lovely. I first heard about it as my boyfriend recalled being taken here as a youngster by his mum for a cup of tea after visits to the orthodontists next door.
The food is lovely and it is all reasonably priced - from sandwiches to heftier meals. They do a pre-theatre menu of 2 courses for £9.95 which is excellent value because the food here is good quality and genuinely nice. The bar in the middle also ensures a pleasant atmosphere.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Gavin W.Glasgow, Vereinigtes Königreich29194318. Jan. 2016
They don't start serving food until 12.30pm on a Sunday, but nonetheless they got my starter out by about 12.20pm. Thanks for that. We had sat in the bar, a modern, pleasant room with tvs to watch the sport. My starter was scallops with pea puree, and it was pretty nice. I would have preferred king scallops, and the puree was a bit subtle, but it all went nicely with the bacon and micro-herbs. A small hair could have put me off slightly, but it was not of a worrying variety so I was quite happy.
The main, beef teriyaki, was really nice. It was perhaps too saucy, but the spicy sauce was strongly teriyaki flavoured and not watery, the beef and rice were cooked perfectly, and the accompanying vegetables were a good composition. My partner was very happy with her dish too.
A bit slow to retrieve our payment, but apart from that a very nice meal.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Patrick H.Midlothian, Vereinigte Staaten7510119125. Juni 2018
Really great and attentive staff here in the bar made this a pretty stress free and relaxing stop during my stay. They have good food and drinks here . The rooms were very comfortable . Couldn't find anything to criticize . We were so tired when we landed here and the beds were like sleeping on a cloud . I would stay again for sure.

With a lovely outdoor seating area, as soon as any sunshine hits Glasgow you can be sure that this pub will be packed with people. This pub is also a hotel with 8 rooms and was where my parents stayed when they visited Glasgow recently. I checked out their room when they arrived and was really impressed - clean, slick and modern. A double room is £80 a night and includes breakfast.
We ate in the hotel restaurant on a Sunday evening and got a booking for a table pretty easily - mind you, there was a football match on so take that into account if you are going to book ahead as the bar and restaurant were packed with people. We had a booth table booked for us and the staff even offered to move us to a quieter space if the football got too rowdy which I thought was nice. They have a private dining area at the front of the hotel which I think they only use for breakfast for the hotel guests.
I wasn't overly hungry as we'd had a big lunch, so I ordered two starters - one from the pre-theatre (house) menu and one from the a la carte. I wasn't sure whether this would be an issue but the staff weren't phased at all. I got a bowl of Cullen skink and garlic mushrooms in a filo pastry basket. The wait wasn't long and I was impressed with the presentation of both the dishes. The portion sizes were really generous and I really couldn't fault either of the dishes - the mushrooms were lovely and creamy, and the soup had just the right amount of flavour and wasn't too hot.
The food is really decent pub food, and for that I really recommend this place. The prices are reasonable, the staff are friendly and the atmosphere was totally buzzing while we were there. I always forget to go here when we're looking for a local meal, but I'll try harder to remember what a wee gem the OP is in future.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Nicola C.Edinburgh, Vereinigtes Königreich60377861312. As part of a volunteer recruitment drive in the run up to the opening of the new Chest Heart and Stroke Scotland shop in Giffnock, we had booked the Orchard Park for an afternoon of meeting with potential volunteers.
A few days before, the manager had called us to say that, unfortunately, a larger last minute party had been booked. - Whilst they'd be making £50 from our booking, they'd make a significant amount more for the other booking. - Would we mind being in a corner of the bar and dining area? We appreciated the honesty and, in fact, this was exactly what we had wanted. - It suited us perfectly to be tucked away since the event was small-scale and we had been in correspondence with the majority of the people who were attending, any interest on the day was an unexpected bonus. - It was really just to meet somewhere nice and inviting, with our official materials laid out, since the shop was still mid set-up at the time.
The Orchard Park is really very lovely inside, and I'm sure the bar would be perfect for some dinner or drinks in the evening. The staff were really friendly and helpful, providing us with tea, coffee and biscuits, and even a top-up when we'd drank the tea dry! - Just what we needed to power us through the afternoon and a nice welcome for the visitors who joined us. They also gave us free reign of our corner, meaning we could move tables and chairs, pitch up our signs, spread our leaflets around and generally do our thing.
Like so many of the local businesses, the Orchard Park were fully supportive of the charity's new endeavour and even took some promotional materials from us, which was nice of them. If I'm ever in the mood for after work drinks in Giffnock - as opposed to the mad dash for the train home - then the Orchard Park will be first on my list!Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 2Oh no 0 - Annette U.Chicago, Vereinigte Staaten55185253. We met up with a group of friends for an early dinner. They have a two and three course menu that is served almost every day of the week. My husband and I both got the venison starter and he had the steak pie while I had the sausage chili. Everything was excellent-but the venison was by far the best.
I would have given 5 stars but our food took a long time to come out and our servers were not that attentive. It was quite busy so they may need to hire more staff. Also, the menu online wasn't the same as the one in the restaurant-I would have loved to try their grilled squid. I would definitely go back.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Qype User (pinkfi…)Dublin, Irland01818. Aug. 2010
The Ochard park is a small independent hotel just 8 rooms that are comfortable and come with friendly helpful service. Certain aspects of the romms are great,, lovely shower and comfortable bed however no hairdryer and also a very small tv with just 4 channels. However this isnt really a problem as theres a good public bar downstairs with great food. If i was to score the bar and food seperatly they would score higher than 3 stars.
I like this place because its warm and friendly and very comfortable.
Its in a good location for glasgow city but has a much more relaxed local feel.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Martin D.Glasgow, Vereinigtes Königreich16328. Feb. 2015
Very poor. Waldorf salad came with a curly black hair in in. The OP ultimate burgers very average with oinion rings that were greasy beyond belief. Overpriced and poor quality

Like the last reviewer I can't review the hotel part as I haven't stayed there, but I like the pub so much I felt it was worth a review again. Good selection of affordable food from meals to burgers to salads. Really nice inside with a good atmosphere.
