Oslo Court is a small French restaurant situated right next to Regents Park.
Now I am not really that partial to French Cuisine but I went here with 2 friends on a recommendation. My friend had said I should try it before giving French food a miss.
I got the impression that this place went back in time, I mean the decor is distinctly 60's or 70's, very pink and really rather different to anything I had experienced.
The waiter came up to us and told us in some detail what the specials of the day were. Sounded mouthwatering. I ordered an asparagus starter dripping in a butter sauce and the beef wellington which was incredibly tasty and huge, wow. They also do some decent vegetarian dishes here which I was surprised to find.
Now for the best bit, the guy who served the desserts was a right character, very funny guy. He joked around with us and had us in stitches.
Oslo Court has changed my view of French Restaurants and I will definitely consider going back. I love my restaurants and eat out at least 4 nights a week, Oslo will be on my list to revisit soon.Helpful 4Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Chris B.NC, Vereinigte Staaten1584529. Okt. 2012
I had a fantastic time in this restaurant! Okay, its decor is dated, peachy and low-ceilinged, but the 'hidden-gem quality', outstanding service, delicious food and the singular 'alcove table' makes it a unique treat.
It's true that most people go there to celebrate special occasions so you'll hear 'Happy Birthday' sung a number of times (with amazing repeated enthusiasm as waiters run to join in!) Which speaks to the high level of service.
These people treat you how you would like to be treated in a restaurant. Not the cloying, overbearing, know-it-all, posh, snobbish type. The 'my god, you've chosen OUR restaurant and we are SO glad you're here, how can we make your evening special?' type!
I'm pretty sure the alcove table was what made my time so enjoyable. Tucked into the alcove, we could watch the restaurant buzz without having the din of the dinner crowd. I was on a date and we could talk and flirt and feel cozily on our own. So highly recommended for a romantic dinner.
Plus, I got a kick out of entering the restaurant through the lobby of a residential buidling, especially since the walls were adorned with one of my favorite artists, Tamara de Lempicka.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 3Oh no 0 - Qype User (upsada…)Hatfield, Vereinigtes Königreich215630. Jan. 2009
Love the classics? Dickens, Balzac? Lobster Thermidor, Beef Wellington?
Oslo Court is a restuarant harking back to a bygone era. It is located in a mansion block. If you ever fantasized about going back in time, this is your chance to do so gastronomically and the decor set the scene for your journey.
The staff are outstandingly attentive, every morsel is cooked to perfection. The dessert waiter has a fantastic trolley and he has always saved the last creme caramel for you!
If your tastebuds are watering thinking of the classic french food, you better get on the phone now to make a booking. They are always booked up months ahead.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Lia L.Philadelphia, Vereinigte Staaten32314. Okt. 2011
Im not sure why this is classified as french...This place was SO expensive and the food was just okay (by NYC standards). I would have rather spent my money at a trendy restaurant in central london than in a stuffy old apartment complex. The service was okay (again, by NYC standards). I would not recommend it.

Oslo Court is a very ...traditional restaurant in an old world setting. The food is very good, and the service is very good. The menu is extensive and includes many traditional favorites. Great place for multi-generational dinners. The older diners seemed to appreciate the approach more than the younger diners. I found the wine selection good, and the prices reasonable.

My absolute favourite restaurant! Been there regularly for the last fifteen years. Celebrated anniversaries, birthdays, all nature of special occasions. Doesn't matter that it never changes - hope it never does. The ambience is like a private club - the service is attentive to a T. Love everything about the place - the reason why it's booked so far ahead is because it is so damn good!
