Pat Catan's Craft Center

I'm super sad the store is closing!! They were bought out by Michaels and all Pat Catan's store will be closed by September so go now and get huge discounts!!

Ok on to my actual review. This store is huge but is always lacking something! I grew up going here with my mom but I feel like my child mind remembers it much better than it actually is. It's a great store for jewelry making and woodwork but most other crafts I'd choose the other stores otherwise. The staff are helpful when finding things but I wouldn't ask them about projects like I can with Michaels stores. But like I stated before they are closing soon so get there now and get supplies while they are CHEAP!

I've gone to this store many times but it has become really disappointing. First of all, the staff is not at all helpful. They don't even seem to know where products in the store are kept. The yarn selection is terrible. If you need yarn, go to JoAnn's or Michael's since both of them have a much larger selection. Check out lines are long. I probably won't be going back.

Pat Catan's is pretty sweet.

They have everything for any type of artsy craftsy type of thing you want to get into.

Yarn for knitting. Paint for painting. Canvas for painting on. Brushes to dip in paint. Needles for sewing. Frames for framing. And they even do custom framing - but I've never used that service.

Their prices are very low and pretty much every time I go to the register everything is even cheaper than what it was originally marked.

Best thing? They're locally owned. That's more than I can say for Michael's.

Okay selection of decently priced 1:12 scale dollhouse miniaturesif you're a beginner. Nothing extraordinary or unique though. If you make your own miniatures, there's a lot of great stuff to pick from: lots of clay, small print scrapbooking paper, beads, etc. . Super affordable!

Nice yarn selection, too!

I love the products in the store. Great for all your crafting needs. However, the staff leaves a heck of a lot to be desired. Very annoyed if you ask for help. Also not willing to make customers a priority when it comes to checking out/returns. Staff more or less made it their mission to walk around aimlessly while lines grew. One kind cashier asked her manager if she could page backup to the registers, the manager said "No! They can wait". Seriously? Shame on you Pat Catan's. You're lucky your price and selection is good.

They get props. The yarn selection has been added to and that made me very happy. The Sugar and Cream is still super inexpensive and they've added some nice new lines. Glad that I stopped in today!
