I have passed this place for years and when my stylist moved into this location boy was I surprised at how large this place is. The owner, Felicia, is so friendly and professional. The shop is beautifully decorated with amenities that not all shops offer. There's a new lash lady, a barber and jeweler inside. My stylist, David does great work, which is why I have been with him since 98/99.

First let me start with my stylist Vickey.. She is AMAZING!! I am a long time customer of hers. A little while back I died my hair with box dye (by myself) and to make matters worse, my ends were extremely dead. I didn't know what to do so I called her. She knew just what to say and just what to do. She was able to give me a clean trim and I didn't lose as much hair as I thought. She also fixed my color for me. The color came out just right! She is a sweet and kind individual who makes you feel valued as a customer.

Now on to the shop. The shop is calming and welcoming environment. I am at piece every time I come here. I am never there to long. The decor is lovely and so is the staff. I highly recommend people to come here.

Decided to check this place out because of a Groupon that offered a manicure and pedicure for $25.
So, I had an appointment with Jamila. She was really nice and fun to talk, plus she did an amazing job with my nails.

ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE!!! I have been in Sacramento for 6 years and have been VERY sceptical about a hair salon to take my teenage daugter to.

Early this year my daughter decided to stop getting relaxers and go natural. It has been a rough road doing it alone, but that is all over now.

We went in to the shop for a consultation and they also were able to fit her in for services. This wa nice beacuse we didn't have to come back and the wait was minimal.

Everyone there was extremly friendly, even the other patrons. I felt comfortable, welcome, unjudged and at ease. My daughter and I were blown away at how realxing, friendly and welcoming the environment was. Music selection was nice, conversations were appropraite, no gossiping or judging others.

My daughter was nervous about how they would react to her hair. Fortunately, they assured us her hair wasn't too bad off and they would help get it healthier and more manageable if we chose to continue serves. Yes, we will be back every other week.

To top it all of the price wasn't outrageous. Great people, great service and great prices. Can't get too much better than that.

BEST OF ALL...my daughter loves her hair. It looks healthy, straightened without a relaxer, flows, shines, manageable and beautiful!!!

As a matter of fact I will be getting my hair done with my daughter!!!

Just called for a consultation. Yvonne answered her cell on her way to the salon and suggested that Akilah (sp?) would be the perfect stylist for my natural hair. She sais she would have Akilah get back to me within 30 minutes. Yvonne then called back to say that Akilah was with a client and that she doesn't talk on the phone while with clients. Done. Sold. That's a definite first and I like it! I'll rate them again after my consult tomorrow.

4-star rating stands! I have transitioned from relaxed hair to natural sister twists and I L-O-V-E it. Akilah is patient, kind, courteous and quick. Is that even possible in a stylists? Only took me 43 years to find her!!!!

I had a excellent appt in December/early January. I have two diff hair textures since I am still growing out a texturizer but I was definitely hooked up. The service was timely and I felt that I was very well taken care of. We chatted the whole time while I was getting my hair twisted (2-strand twists) and it didn't bother me at all. Offered water, refreshments - this place is very professional. It was nice to have good, friendly conversation among professional women who enjoy what it is that they do (and they do it so very well!)

I just moved to the Sacramento area for work and I am SO glad that Yelp was there to help me find an affordable hair cure!

Just had my first appointment with stylist Reese accompanied by ms Ivan. My hair is naturally really thick and hard to manage so i was really impressed with the care and professionalism they both showed.They kept me in the loop of what items they were using in my hair as well as what steps they were doing next. The bob they fashioned fit me well and the demicolor? looks great! I will be back again.

This review will be short and technically should only be zero stars because the stylist, and I believe owner of the salon, stood me up so I never received any service.

I was referred to Yvonne and was excited about trying her out. It is the holidays and we are all very busy, especially on the last few weekends before Christmas. I had made an 8:30am appointment on Sat. When I arrived, I was told Yvonne wasn't there and that she was in Hawaii. I think it's safe to assume that a trip to Hawaii didn't come up that morning before 8:30am.

If that is how she treats her prospective customers I certainly don't want to become a patron.

I first heard of this Petite Hair and Nails because they were doing a presentation on how to take care of ethnic or African American hair. They went through their philosophy, tips, products the whole works. The presentation was done by Yvonne and Akelah. They don't believe on being on the phone while doing your hair, you are their focus.

I went back because I was so impressed. Both ladies are very intelligent, very respectful and nice people. It is a pleasure to see them. Akelah did a "consult" on my hair and went over specifics related to my hair and we tried different product to see how it worked. Since she considered that a consult, I was not charged for her services, even though I was in there for over an hour picking her brain and having her help me.

Vickie waxed my eyebrows and did a fabulous job! They have never looked so good.

Overall, everyone in their is super nice. I have had nothing but good things to say about them.

Best salon for african american hair....akilah is the bomb....master loctician and natural hair care. Great spot for nails too....vicki I love my gelish manicure. Can't wait to go back. Salon is upscale, super clean and comfortable....so happy I found them.
