Phuket

This place is right across the Philosophers Walk and we were definitely happy to eat here for lunch. Ordered a Thai beer, spring rolls, Tom Yam soup. Everything was delicious! The pad Thai was super seasoned well. We left very satisfied. Definitely recommend.

In my experience, most Asian restaurants in Germany serve food that is ok, but not great, and I'm glad they exist when I get tired of German food. This restaurant fit that category...not the best Thai food that I've ever eaten but the atmosphere was pleasant, our server was nice, and the food arrived fairly quickly.

My husband's Pad Thai was ok but a little oily. I had the duck with green curry sauce which was spicy, but the duck was very dry. My main complaint about service was my husband's Pad Thai arrived several minutes before my duck. Our two dishes plus tea and Fanta was 28 EUR.

They were open Christmas Day and also December 26. The menus were in Thai, German, and English.

Most of Heidelberg's restaurants (in the Altstadt) offer cheap food that appeals to German day tourists. Most German restaurants don't appreciate hospitality. Consequently, I focus on Asiatic restaurants, that do.
Most Thai restaurants use mild spices (what Europeans like). So, you'll have to tell the server, that you want your curries hot if that's what you like.

I recommend Phuket Restaurant, it gives good value: big portions (not American style mega-portions). But good. Very good service. Well made food. I had a Green vegetarian Currie, made with lightly seemed vegetables and tofu. My partner had a red Currie, but it was too mildly spiced. Almost bland. Most food is served in heated clay pots. It's in a good location, near the entrance to the Alte Brücke (the old bridge), near to the Nekar river.

Ok, so I feel like I am being generous with a 3 star rating. This place has a good location and ambiance but the food is bland and ranks in the least flavorful Thai food we have had as a family. We are a family of five foodies and we all were in agreement with this rating.

Nice location, the food 4 different we order not really original, the choice of ingredients and herb not to much Thai style. The fish in small fried pieces
All in all for the upper price make us try the other location next time :(
