Piazza Trapani

Went there on a whim. Had gone to the area before and liked it. First thing to mention is that even if you are in northern germany, this place is authentic. The staff speaks to each other in Italian, always a good sign. Their product list (for beverages) contains a lot of Italian items.

We took the suggestion of the waitress and we were not disappointed. I had the ravioli with mushrooms and it tasted great. My girlfriend had the stuffed gnocchi. They were huge and the stuffing was really great.

We took a tiramisu to share as dessert and it was perfect. It went down easily and it tasted like some of the one I had when I went to Italy.

I did not have their pizza but saw some pass by and it was almost enough to make me regret my choice. They looked excellent.

A friend recommended me this place and so I had to visit it, I had to try their pizza.
The ambience is nice, the place is small but it has also few tables outside. One of the cooks is italian and all the staff is really nice.
The menu, as somebody already mentioned, is quite short. You have a basic pizza (tomato, mozzarella) in three different sizes, after choosing the size you can add few extra ingredients from the list (olives, funghi, salami, ...). The selection is good but they charge a bit too much for each single ingredient.
Apart from the pizza they have several pasta dishes, but I wasn't interested in them this time.

The pizza was thin with a well made dough but the ingredients were not on the same level. The tomato sauce was not well cooked and it had a slightly acid taste. The mozzarella was probably not mozzarella, but a replacement cheese that many pizza places use. Overall the pizza was good and I would place it slightly above the average pizza you can find in Hamburg.
I wouldn't recommend the house wine, we left more than half glass on the table.

Friendly, good value. The Speisekarte is VERY short. You only get what is fresh & homemade. Strongly recommended.

Gestern Abend waren wir zum ersten Mal dort. Unglaublich, aber es gibt sie noch die kleinen wunderschönen und authentischen italienischen Restaurants. Vom netten Empfang über den herzlichen Service der Inhaberin Katrin und der sehr leckeren Pizza mit superfrischen Zutaten sowie der sehr herzlichen Verabschiedung war es ein rundum gelungener Abend Danke!
