This is probably the mall in Berlin that no locals or even visitors haven't been yet. Arkaden located at Potsdamer Platz, it's hard to miss. The mall itself want really huge, but because of the location, it's one well known malls in Berlin. It's also a nice place to hang around, they got really nice ice cream café, I usually will come here with friends just for that. Or simply just come here for shopping. It got two cinemas around also.
Arkaden is big, but not huge. They are many different shops, but if you looking for a good place to do fashion shopping, I am not sure this is the place. I think for short and quick, this mall is cool. For me, what I like the most at this mall, it's their hallway. It got different looks time to time, it depends on which season it is and what festivals and events are. It's some how like a exhibition but only more commercial. Personally I like to come here at Christmas time, the Christmas theme look form this mall is really brilliant. They got very nice decorations and trees.
I also like the architecture style of the hallway, it looks amazing. The mall is also connected to the S-Bahnhof Potsdamer Platz. It's really convenient. There are many ways you can get to this mall, some time going there it, not because of to buy something, instead just it is the shortcut to get around. As I mentioned before, the mall isn't that big. Since they got a new mall near by, if I want to do shopping like shopping, I will prefer the other one. Arkaden isn't bad, I like it, just sometime I could not find what I looking for here.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Aaron S.Manchester, Vereinigtes Königreich102843131392716. Aug. 2017
Potsdamer Platz Arkaden is one of the many shopping malls in the German capital of Berlin, it is located just around the corner from the Mall of Berlin, the latter being in a much better, central location in Postdamer Platz, close to two metro stations and being a larger and more modern mall alltogether.
Potsdamer Platz Arkaden in my opinion really is a big down compared to the other nearby mall, as despite being a decent size over three floors, I find the overall selection of stores to be a little restrictive, for example there isn't even a Starbucks here, albeit that is the same with the Mall of Berlin, and there is a Starbucks on the street leading up to the mall and many others in the Postdamer Platz area so perhaps one right inside, in the heart of the mall, as they have in Alexa for example isn't needed here.
There are a few large flagship shops such as H and M, Mango and Wohrl and as I recall Rewe and O2 have a branch here, but overall the selection if restrictive and with a lack of maps around the mall, the layout is also something I found to be confusing, I ended up going up and down every floor looking for a Starbucks only to find out, it is located just outside opposite Pizza Hut and Rewe which was frustrating, there also was a lack of staff and help desks too.
In my opinion, Potsdamer Platz Arkaden will always come second to the Mall of Berlin mainly down to it being insuperior in near enough every way, being smaller, less modern and having a more confusing layout with less people to ask for help/maps etc, sadly deserving a single one star rating.Helpful 2Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 24. Want to kill time before dinner?
Literally a 2 minute walk from the moment you step out of Potsdamer Platz station, Arkaden is a very nice shopping complex with many stores spread over three floors. We easily wasted an hour or so window shopping here. All that walking in Berlin convinced my friend she needed a new pair of sneakers to take back home to the US. She didn't find it here, but she was directed by the helpful staff to another mall.
You won't go hungry here as the food options range from full service restaurants to small cafes where you can take a short break. Caffe e Gelato was busy as a bee: the ice cream line moved quickly and I guess in Berlin, even when it's raining, its always ice cream time!Helpful 14Thanks 0Love this 12Oh no 0 - Georgi Y.London, Vereinigtes Königreich1171126. The usual shopping centre with plenty of clothing shops, perfume shops, a food court, two groceries shops.
If you think this is what you see everywhere, just check it out around Christmas time! This is the best decorated mall I have ever seen! Don't have words to describe the magic, so just check the photos.
Plus, I noticed it remains open even when shops are closed. People just walk in from one entrance, and go back out through another, using the place as a covered passage. I doubt, however, it stays open all night.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - 24. März 2011
Great mall with 3 levels and a variety of stores.
Myriad food options including some good pastry shops and a famous gelato place, but my favorite has to be Heisser Wolf or the "Hot Wolf" place in the lower level which is a carnivore's paradise.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Alexandre C.Zürich, Schweiz403036838. März 2013
It's a large 3 floors shopping mall. There are many shops such as ZARA, WE, VERO MODA, s.Oliver, H&M, Mango, NATURA, Esprit etc. Well! If your are tired from shopping so take a break in one of different restaurants which offer German and international food. Ambiance was friendly and nice.

Ever been to a shopping mall? This is basically what the Arkaden is. It's indoors, which makes for a nice way to escape either the heat of summer or the cold of winter. There are plenty of shops of all kinds, from clothing stores to an apothecary. There are also many places to eat, all of which are set up in a style reminiscent of food courts. You walk up, order and pay, then sit and eat. There are all kinds of restaurants inside, so if you want to eat a little cheaper than the restaurants outside, this is the place.
There are three floors altogether, so there is plenty to see. Size-wise it is not as huge as some American malls I have been in, but there is enough of a variety to the selection of stores that one will be able to find something they like.Helpful 1Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Qype User (aaro…)Sydney, Australien410656. Arkaden is a reasonable size shopping mall in the middle of Berlin. It's not that easy to find (e.g. it's in the middle of some boring looking international hotels/restaurants) so you may miss it.
It definitely isn't as big as many suburban malls in the US, Australia, or UK, however it is still worth a visit if you want to go to international chain stores (Zara, H&M, Mango, etc) mixed with some German chain stores.
Because it is 3 levels in a narrow straight block, you can easily walk along the 3 floors without being too overwhelmed or tired, or losing your sense of direction. The food court area (lower ground) is quick and easy to get to.
Best to go during sales in mid July where some things can be discounted up to 70%. It can feel a little crowded at times but not too hard to get around.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - Zayed K.LONG ISLAND CITY, Vereinigte Staaten597558611. Mai 2011
This mall is a bit of an enigma. During my few years in Berlin, I only recall going there with German friends a couple times, but many more times with other international visitors. There is not much "Berlin" about it at all. It's more like their glammed-up attempt of replicating classic retail Americana, but of course with a dash of Euro futurista (no not the Polish punk band), and it produces a fascinating and unexpectedly quirky tourist hub. The scattered collection of mainstream chain stores housed under the in-your-face modern structure offers no cohesive theme. The sensational seasonal decorations (especially during the holiday season) are lavish and gorgeous, and somehow irrelevant. But it is charming in its awkwardness, with a sense of theatricality that I feel is sometimes lost among the locals, who are quick to dismiss it as just another big commercial lump of shops. Its state of confusion makes it more thought-provoking than that suggests. It also helps that this place is home to what is perhaps the world's best ice cream parlour.

I have been there for just few times. This shopping mall is rather plain in structure, and nothing special there.
