This is a Premier Inn hotel on the fringe of Sheffield's city centre surrounded by lots of local amenities (supermarkets, discount stores, banks, restaurants, etc) and in a close proximity to tram and bus stops.
I stayed here over the course of 2 weeks on business. During my stay I have a walk around the area and I found many jobless youth standing outside the nearby Job Centre in the day and homeless people roaming the streets in the night.
Premier Inn hotels pride themselves with guaranteeing quality sleep. This by offering comfy beds and quality sound isolation. The beds were comfortable. Nevertheless, the sound isolation wasn't up to the standard of the rest of Premier Inn hotels that I stayed in previously. Traffic noise, especially buses, found its way to leak into the rooms and Exhaust fans were noisy. Also, you could here footsteps coming from the corridor. This will be problematic if your neighbouring guests were party animals.
The staff were cheerful and respectful. They didn't hesitate to offer help.
I parked my hire car in the NCP car park to the rear of the hotel at a 50% discounted rate for being an Premier Inn guest.
I enjoyed my stay in this Premier Inn. I hope they can upgrade the noise isolation. I recommend it for business guests who would like to have a place to do work in the area.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 1Oh no 0 - Qype User (zoony…)Dublin, Irland567320. Nov. 2008
We stayed here when going to see Ricky Gervais at the City Hall, and were really happy with our stay.
The hotel is ideally situated with just a short walk - or tram ride to both the City Hall and the main shopping areas.
The hotel itself includes a resturant and bar, and lots of floors for accomodation.
We only stayed one night, but it was clean, comfortable and cannot be faulted, other than a quick comment on the price - top end for Premier Inn outside of London.
Still as a city centre hotel, its not massively overpriced, and the atmosphere is welcoming throughout.Helpful 0Thanks 0Love this 0Oh no 0 - 8. Feb. 2012Erster Beitrag
It's a fairly standard Premier Inn, in not a bad location: on the northern edge of the centre, close to Castle Square tram stop, and just a few minutes' walk from the Cathedral. It's a 10-15 minute walk from the station, but you can take a tram, which takes 5 minutes. It has a bar and restaurant the best meal I think is the unlimited buffet breakfast, which is self service, except they offer porridge or egg dishes to order. My room was actually nicer then the average Premier Inn, as it had a chaise longue in it albeit in the house purple colour! But it gave it a bit more character. But I like the fact their bathrooms have proper, big baths, and hair-dryers, and were spotlessly clean. And the staff were all friendly. If you don't want an evening meal in the in-house restaurant, there are some options nearby, including a large and reasonable Wetherspoons. I paid £60 for a double room with breakfast.

I love this place, central in the City, standard Premier Inn rooms but fantastic for the price, 1st floor bar and restaurant, the staff are fantastic and really look after you. Breakfast is superb, buffet style or a choice of additional breakfast needs, dinner menu is good too, the amount of choice available would suggest it's not cooked fresh (could be wrong but I wouldn't like to be the chef here if so) but what is delivered is pretty damn good. I would rate this place as my favourite to stay in Sheffield.
